Great balance of lightness and comfort

Brooks makes a solid line of running shoes. The fit is excellent and the Launch series is a good balance of being light and having comfort. The price point on these are also a bit better than other brands too. These took a bit of time to break-in, as opposed to the Launch 5 that needed no time at all. It took me about 10 miles to get these to the perfect point, but they weren't a hard 10 miles to put down either. It seemed to get molded to my feet after the first 3 miles, then got even better from there. I'm hoping they last longer than the Launch 5 that lasted me about a year. That said, I'm running more because of these shoes, so it's hard to complain.Run Happy!!

Highly recommended for the casual runner/weekend warrior

Great running shoe! I had initially ordered a size 10.5 because the Merrell shoes I wear are that size and they were a bit short. I bumped up a half size and it made a world of difference. This shoe has great balance between feeling the surface you are running on and cushion to prevent too much jarring of my joints. The drop from heel to toe definitely accommodates my neutral running stride. This is definitely a shoe I enjoy because it is springy enough to pick up the pace during a 5k, and comfortable enough to pound the pavement for a half marathon.

great shoe, made me faster

This shoe is the first Brooks product I have tried (have always used ASICS in the past). Have only put about 10 miles on them so far and find the fit and comfort very good. This is the lightest shoe I have ever run in and I think this does make a performance difference. I had been trying all summer to get my one and two mile times down with little improvement. With this shoe I suddenly cut 12 and 25 seconds off. Maybe it was just the cooler weather but I think it was the shoes.

Not as Good as Last Year’s Model but Still Decent

This is a good shoe but it isn’t as good as last year’s model or even my two year old ASIC Gel Nimbus 20’s with respect to cushioning. In my opinion last year’s Glycerin 17 was a better shoe in every way. The upper on the 18 is a fine weave and thin with little cushioning on top of the toe box. Sometimes when I am walking fast, on gravel, I kick up a rock and then kick it with the top of my other foot. While this is always painful, the thin top and lack of cushioning makes this excruciating with the Glycerin 18. The biggest disappointment is the cushioning level of the Glycerin 18. While it is good and soft, it isn’t as good as the 17 and it is not as good as the cushion level in my two year old ASIC Gel Nimbus 20’s.The 18 is lighter than the 17, but, I don’t care as much about the weight on a level 3 cushioning shoe. For their level 3 cushioning shoe, the level of cushioning should take precedence over every other design consideration. The fit is close if you wear no sock or a super thin sock. I wear a thicker cotton sock so I order 1/2 size larger and one size wider and that fits me pretty well (closer to the fit of a normal shoe or New Balance tennis shoes). After walking well over 100 miles in these shoes they have grown on me. I added a fourth star and I think they definitely meet the definition of a soft cushioned shoe.

Great support shoe

My husband is a 6'2" athletic guy (not overweight) and needs a great deal of support as well as comfort since he pretty much stands and lifts pets all day. These newer Brooks are even better than the last pair with more arch support and comfort than last year's model which he loved. He feels they are true to size since he wears them with socks and takes a 12.5. Probably will buy another pair since he is so horribly hard on shoes. He prefers the darker color since working around pets and people can get a bit grungy, but these stay clean looking at least. Excellent product.

GREAT shoe!

I've been wearing Brooks for 25 years now and love their shoes. The Launch is new to me with the model 6 and I LOVE them!! The are comfortable and wear well not for only for running, but as an every day shoe. I don't run as much as I used to for regular exercise. I know good running shoes though and these work well! I just bought a second pair in a different color to mix it up some. I'd be this version again all day long and will move up to the model 7 at some point too.

Not on the clouds but good

I rarely bugy shoes in the $100, usually buy them at deals in other store but I went for this one. It did not amaze me at first at all. I will Addidas Lite Racer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077XCGXWK/?coliid=I1NN55GO01B7D8&colid=G0Y0UQ5RKOP5&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it which is amazing comfortable shoes to wear but it did tear up in the toe area within a month of so of use.So far I have been running more, the toe area wear my addias tore still has help up (I can see the pressure from the toe but at least it is not tearing). I think they are comfortable but they do not push you if you are expecting that. Overall I happy after using it for 2 months not everyday though. I am rating it 5 star not because I am super impressed with it but I do not want to rate it low if I do not see any visible problem with it. I loved my addidas Lite Runner though, which feels great EVERY time I wear them.--Update after an year. The shoes are solid, and still comfortable. I highly recommend. Great for hiking, jogging and general walking around.
