Stability, Value, Comfort: 72 years old, retired, and was living in ugly crocs until I found Brooks! I've tried all kinds of shoes, sizes, widths, and brands. Crocs are ugly and hot, and I refused to wear them in public, but hated changing shoes every time I left the house. My feet and legs love the comfort and support of these Brooks! I believe they run a little smaller than most shoes, so opted for a size larger and wider. No issues when wearing them all day and into the night! Also, I want to mention I have another style of Brooks--the leather walkers, which are a bit stiff and not as light weight. However, the walker is my first pick in wet or frigid weather, and the absolute best when a more formal shoe style is desired.
Several years ago my podiatrist recommended that I wear Brooks or HOKA. I purchased Brooks because I like the way they felt and looked, and purchased HOKA because I liked the extra cushion. I finally needed to replace the Brooks because I ended up wearing them 95% of the time. I chose this style this time because it had a little more cushion and I LOVE them. I have a lot of arthritis in my toes and on the top of my feet so I always get 7.5 Wide, by mistake I ordered Extra Wide and I don’t regret it. They fit like a comfortable pair of slippers while providing support and extra cushioning. I am 72 years old and find the extra thick sole on the HOKAs tend to make me trip if I’m not careful but I do not have that problem with the Brooks. My toes and top of my feet don’t hurt and I get great arch support which helps with my back pain from degenerative disc disease. Best of all my grandkids who are athletic shoe connoisseurs gave their approval for style, something the HOKAs never got. I purchased the Oyster/Peacoat/Lilac Rose in 7.5 extra wide.
I needed a really good pair of shoes for working out in. These are more for walking than say dancing workouts, which is mainly what I do for my workouts. They started out really well and then by 6 months in, they were causing pain in my left heel. I stopped wearing them and switched to another pair of shoes. I only use these for walking now. So if all you do is walk, these are great for that type of exercise. I'm kind of disappointed that these did not work the way I needed them to in ways of giving me extra support for my dancing exercises and considering the price tag on these shoes. These were the most expensive shoes I have ever bought and now they're just for walking in. The fabric is very breathable. I like the color, but I wish they had a wider selection of colors to choose from. I probably will not buy another pair of Brooks again. These were true to size. The quality is well-made. I have not worn these in the rain, so I'm not sure if they're waterproof or not or if water comes through the front of the shoe or not.
Perfect toe room, comfortable for being on your feet all day.
I should have returned them but now I’m stuck with them on vacation in Warsaw, Poland! I purchased a oair if. Rooks Addiction Walking Shoes a couple of years ago and their size 10 narrow was a very comfortable fit (i had returned a size 9 1/2 pair). The black leather model is great for winter, but a bit heavy and clunk. I wanted something lighter, and got the Addiction GTS fabric model. They are okay, but seem smaller than the leather pair. The toe box is cramped in widths and height and feels too short after wearing for a few hours. They definitely are not made on the same last. As the leather walkers. Too much padding, which crowds rather than cushions. I will wear thin socks and hope for the best since they are the only walking shoes I brought on this trip. Disappointed in the Brooks brand. New Balance fits me better.
These are very comfortable & give lots of support.
