I Love My Old Lady Shoes

OMG! At first, when I saw these shoes, I said to myself "Those are old lady shoes. Ugh" and swore I'd never wear them. Then I realized that I am an old lady - 73 years old. Tying my shoelaces is becoming more difficult for my arthritic hands - especially when I can't remember if it's over or under when tying the laces. Since my two pair of brand new Skechers Step In shoes didn't fit right, the heels slipped, even though they were comfortable, I decided to give these "old lady shoes" a try and I am completely blown away with these new Brooks shoes! They are so very comfortable. They slip on easily. The two velcro straps are easy to adjust, and they hold the shoes in place perfectly - no slipping of my heels. I sized up a half size because I use an orthotic in my shoes. They have ample room in the toe box so that my toes are not squished up. They are sturdy with a wide base and provide ample stability when walking - especially when it is becoming easier to stumble or falter. I love these shoes! They are perfect for me. I just wish Brooks made them in different colors. White isn't my favorite color, nor is black. And I'd also like to note: I am NOT a runner! I walk my two German Shepherd Dogs daily and these shoes are perfect for that job.

Smaller than expected

I have a pair of Brooks Women's Glycerin 20 running shoes that fit me great. I wear them constantly and my feet never hurt. There is plenty of room in the toes. I recently purchased a different style of Brooks: Addiction Walkers. When I tried them on, my toes were uncomfortably jammed against the front. I immediately took them off because I know that I can't wear shoes if my toes are bent from lack of room.As you can see from the pictures, I got the exact same size in both shoe styles. I will be sending the Addiction Walkers back.If you're going to order these, order at least a half size up.

I was resistant to purchasing such an orthotic looking shoe, sticking to the lace Brooks Addiction Walker Suede. The Walker provides the support I need. My foot Dr. says I these are the only shoes I should be wearing for everything… Even though Brooks has more attractive looking shoes, they’re for running and supported differently. I wanted a solid black so I got them and so GLAD I did. Comfortable. It has a diagonal roll bar to keep you in your natural stride. Best shoe I have owned!

Amazing shoe, I got Velcro because I had shoulder surgery, but I also needed a sturdy and firm shoe for my bad feet. I will say that after all the wear and tear I’ve given them over a year, the Velcro does start to wear off. I may be able to get it fixed because I love this shoe. Or I could buy new ones, I am sure that it is time anyway. The Velcro is just so much easier for me.
