Both Feet Are Happy, So I Will Keep Them

I love the style and color of these shoes and I also like the warm, breathable, water-resistant Gore-Tex. They will be great for cooler and wetter weather. However, I’m happiest with the fact that I actually found a pair of shoes to suit my fickle feet. For a neutral shoe, they are pretty accommodating. I used to have high arches, but not anymore. From years of my arches falling and my feet getting longer, I now have two completely different feet. My old lady feet have taken a beating and are—now—seldom in agreement. Normally, if my left foot likes a shoe, then my right foot complains; and, if my right foot likes the shoe, then my left foot complains. Each foot wants not only a different type of shoe, but also a different size. My left foot is a half-size longer, and it is slightly thinner and flatter than the right foot. While it still has a pretty good arch, it wants a neutral shoe. Unfortunately, my right foot wants a curved shoe with support for supination. It would also prefer a wider shoe with more room at the top to accommodate the arch. I always wear a longer size shoe to accommodate the left foot, but it leaves the right foot sliding in the heal a bit. When I go with a neutral shoe to accommodate the left foot, my right foot supinates and puts a lot of weight into the lateral side of the shoe. When I go with a shoe that makes the right foot happy and supported, my left foot aches. After a long search for shoes, I settled on these. My left foot really loves these shoes, and my right foot is OK with it. This is one of the few types of shoes where my feet are somewhat in agreement. The wider toe box is nice too. The only thing I would like better would be to have a little more room at the top of the shoe to accommodate those with slightly higher arches. I do measure the length and width of my feet and check the manufacturer before buying shoes online, and I would say that these shoes run slightly narrower than expected. I have pretty decent—but not high--arches and these barely accommodate the top of my feet, so there is a bit of pressure there. It is not bad though and I’m fairly certain that this will ease up as I break in the shoes. The cushioning in these shoes is superb and makes up for a lot. I think it will do a good job of protecting my right knee from any damage from supination. However, a person with higher arches might want to look elsewhere for stability and/or room. Right now, I can’t vouch for the durability of the shoe, since I just got them. However, they appear to be well made. I have had Brooks Ghost shoes in the past and they held up over a year. I’m pretty rough on shoes and can easily go through a pair in under six months, so I am pleased with my last purchase. Hopefully, these will hold up too.

A Sneaker I don't Mind Spending a Little Extra For:

Anyone who's old enough, say 40 or 50 years of age can attest to the fact that nothing is made like it used to be! There's no consideration for the planet, in terms of reducing one's carbon footprint; recurring revenue takes precedence. And most of us can agree that quality takes a back seat. Let's talk sneakers! For as long as I can remember, I was a New Balance Man! I would buy a good running NB sneaker, and after six or seven months, just use them for regular wear, as they would not have the same shock resistance, but they still had tread and good looks. But that's no longer the case. Ever since Modell's closed down, it's difficult to get a bargain priced sneaker. And even when you do, they only last about 6 months, before the sole is completely worn down, and I no longer run. But earlier this year, I bought my first pair of Brooks Sneakers at a little over $100.00. The comfort is amazing, it's almost a year and the durability has proven excellent, and the compliments I receive only confirm that I bought a Good-Looking Sneaker... I'm HOOKED! I hope Brooks never changes the quality of their products. Oh, and if you have back issues, this is the sneaker for you!

I love Brooks!

I am a long distance runner who has tried many brands of sneakers and Brooks Ghost are the best!! They provide comfort over time. I love the GTX bc they actually keep my feet dry! They are a great spring/fall shoe or to wear on a wild rainy day. They never disappoint. There is plenty of room in the toe box, but I order a half size up to give my toes extra room when running downhill. I do not appreciate the price for Brooks these days, but I know their product can handle mileage up to 400, whereas other shoes barely reach 200 miles before wearing out.

Brooks are amazing for foot troubles , ie high arches, plantar fascia etc.

I was recommended to wear Brook s from a podiatrist. I have struggled with neuroma and plantar fascia. This particular shoe does what it says. It's comfortable. It's water proof and I loved the color palette. The con of the shoe is I feel it runs much smaller as I had to wear a nine and a half and my toe is still touching the top of the shoe. My biggest Biff is it seems like whatever low profile socks I wear.... the back of the heel will tug the sock down below my heel and under my foot. This having to take sicks off . I don't know if it's how high the heel back comes up or the way it dips inward, but the tugging and pulling will pull your socks down so you'll have to wear a higher fitting sock. This is my biggest problem with this shoe. Other than that, for stability, lightweight and performance, it is my go-to shoes ❤️

Nice shoes, purchase different shoelaces!

I found these shoes to be a bit more stiff. Could be due to the Gore-Tex? But they did break in nicely. Like others have said, the shoelaces are useless. They seem shorter than average, so it’s difficult to even double knot them. I purchase the pea green laces from Delele, on Amazon, and they’re wonderful! Color matches perfectly. Love my Ghost Brooks!

Good shoe

I had a pair or asics but ended up hurting my feet due to no support. This shoe is much more comfortable. Have not had an opportunity to see if they are really waterproof. Ver light weight. I would say these run a little small, but my fit is fine

heal design gouges achilles & laces very short

These shoes are nice and are little pricey for the way they fit. I can wear a 7 or 7.5. I am not sure going with the larger size would remedy the design flaw that I think I am experiencing. The back heal cushion is very thick and the heal cup is rigid and pushes the cushioning into the achilles tendon which rubs, irritates, and makes blisters that are quite painful. I have to wear band aids to protect my achilles. The other parts of the shoe are nice but the laces are short.
