My husband and I go bowling on occasion and I hate using rental bowling shoes. Earlier this year I got my own bowling shoes and I have been glad to not have to pay the outrageous fees to rent a pair of shoes. When I saw these bowling shoes from BSI I decided my husband had to have them! These men's bowling shoes are nice and lightweight and he reports they are very comfortable. He has wide feet and I got him his actual size and he said they fit very well. He also likes the color - bowling shoes usually have a wild color pattern and these grey and black colors are nice neutral colors for him.So he was initially skeptical about the lack of regular shoe laces but after figuring out the turn-lock dial feature, it was so easy to put them on and take them off that he was actually impressed with it. The shoes worked great at the bowling lanes and he didn't experience any slipping or sliding around. He's happy with the performance of these bowling shoes from BSI and is especially happy that he doesn't have to pay to rent yucky bowling shoes at the bowling alley.
I'm not much of a bowler, but my brother-in-law is and I've been trying to bond with him to the extent it is possible. I picked these up in the hopes of going to the bowling alley a couple times a month and improving my game. After a couple of rounds over the course of a couple of months, I can report that these shoes are not going to improve your bowling much. They are, however, quite comfortable and a mostly true-to-size fit (maybe a bit snug, which worked out well for me at a usual size of 10.5 wide) and the lace system is pretty cool as someone who has never used a dial-to-tighten thing before. Nice not to worry about stepping on laces or whatever while throwing a 13 lbs ball across the room. Are they worth the money? Probably, if you're more of an enthusiast than I am. The quality is about what I would expect for a comparable pair of sneakers (which I would also generally scoff at paying full-price for, so YMMV). Maybe not going to last terribly long if you daily them, but they're not intended for that. They're nice and light compared to the heavy clompers they rent at the bowling alley, so that's a plus. Not exactly gonna turn any heads but you're bowling my dude, so that's not much of a concern.Overall, they're definitely bowling shoes and I'm still terrible.
These bowling shoes are quite comfortable and fit well. They are fairly lightweight and seem well made. The way they tighten is by twisting the circle crank on the shoe. You can loosen them by lifting the circle away from the shoe until it clicks and pulling the tongue of the shoe up. I have used them multiple times and the lacing mechanism has held up well, which I was worried about. If you're an avid bowler these will pay for themselves quickly. Worth the money!
These bowling shoes way like nothing in comparison to my past shoe. Its like a fraction of the weight of the rental bowling alley shoes as well.I subtracted a star because im not sure om the heel or even front pad as it seems cheaply attached. In addition, price is nearly 3x my last bowling shoes.I do enjoy that it has boa closure and it was easy to use. Pull it to loosen the cables and turn the knob to tighten it.Im a size 10.5 extra wide in most of my running shoes I wear daily. These shoes actually fit my wide flat foot easily and seems to have enough give as is.Will try them on the bowling lanes soon and will update on how they work.
These bowling shoes fit true to size, not too big and not too small! Quality is definitely above-average, providing a lightweight yet comfortable bowling shoe for league or fun nights! Easy to put on/off and the sole provides an appropriate level of traction vs slide. These bowling shoes have become my go-to choice each week! A++++++
This is a comfortable and extremely light "bowling" shoe. Though the lace system is very similar to the competitive BOA lace-up, this was a little cumbersome to get snugged up and still leaves a very wide gap between the laces. It is a good value for a bowling shoe if you can use them. My personal style of bowling as a senior citizen only requires me to slide at most about one inch. These shoes would not allow me to do that. The felt or felt-like bottoms are clearly synthetic and not any kind of leather. When I went to throw my first test ball, my foot slid no more than 1/8", if that, and I nearly planted my face in the floor.. I bowl in many leagues and have seen only a handful of people that actually "plant" their foot instead of sliding on it. It is my opinion that these are the ONLY true bowlers that would actually appreciate this shoe.Thank you for allowing me the review. The only way I could see you getting a better rating is if you included removable slides in various levels of friction as is common in bowling shoes, though it does substantially increase the price. Also another inexpensive addition I would recommend is including at least one shoe cover for the slide foot. Bowlers really appreciate little extras like that.
