Runs a little big, right size is fabulous!

I love these slippers!!! At first I went with my street size, like the Capezio website says, but they were too big and the metatarsal pad kept sliding around. I actually pulled something in my foot trying to correct myself during Adagio, that's when I decided to order a smaller size. I went a full size down and they fit quite well, but I think I'll try half a size down from my street size next time! Anyway, they hug my feet nicely, the metatarsal pads are smooth and comfortable, and they look and feel amazing! If you aren't sure what size to get, err on the side of smaller!

Wonderful shoes to dance in!

I am a forty-something adult getting back into ballet for fun, and bought this particular shoe because it is the one my children’s dance school has recommended for many years now, and I felt I am familiar enough with the sizing to pick the right one for myself without going to a dance store in person. My children get professionally fitted for these ballet shoes each year at their dance school, and they are always given the wide shoe, even though one of them has exceptionally narrow feet - the fitter says this shoe runs so narrow, he nearly always recommends the wide shoe as it fits more like a standard width. They also consistently get shoes that are 3 sizes bigger than their street size, and this generally lasts them for a full year. I knew I would get the wide width for myself based on this, but debated how many sizes to go up since the recommendation given here is only 1-2 sizes bigger than street size. Eventually I split the difference and went with 2.5 sizes bigger, because my feet don’t need any growth space like my children. I am very glad I didn’t go any smaller, and probably could have gone up the full 3 sizes and still been fine. My big toes are right against the canvas with the 2.5 sizes up. For reference, I am a consistent size 7 regular width in street shoes and got the size 9.5W ballet shoes. If I had bought these in person I would have also tried the 10 to see which I liked better, but the 9.5 is comfortable enough that I feel no need to exchange. I’ve been dancing in them for a week now and the sole under the toes feels like it’s in the right place and the shoes generally move with my feet and are very comfortable - I love how it feels to point my toes in these. They are far superior to the thick leather ballet slippers I wore as a teen dancer in the late ‘90s to early 2000s - I wish I’d had these back then! The canvas is so soft and just molds to the feet, and the lining inside is also very soft. They likely will not be as durable as the old-style leather shoes, but I’ll gladly take the lightness and flexibility of these over extra durability. Simply having these shoes makes me excited to dance and for me, that makes them worth every penny.

Comfortable & Accurate Description

I have been dancing for 13 years and am now a ballet instructor at a local recreational studio. I agree with other customers in that these are extremely comfortable and my favorite ballet shoe, but they also wear out more quickly than leather shoes. My current ones have holes in both of the big toes after just 1 year of dancing in college (I just wore them with holes while teaching but it's time for a new pair). I wear a street size 6.5 (sometimes a 6, depending on the shoe) and I purchased an 8.5W in these, worried that they may be too large... But I received exactly what I needed. I do recommend going up about 2 sizes from a standard street size. Always prefer these over leather in terms of feel, but if you're looking for value and durability, go for leather ballet shoes.

Runs small

Great quality as all capezio items but they run very small. Bought for my daughter that uses a normal size 6 shoe and this one fit extremely snug.

Bigfoot Ballerinas, Rejoice!

Fabulous fit on my US 12 (Women)/10 (Men)/EU 46 feet. Perfect amount of stretch. Needed a bit of prep on the soles but very comfy.

Awesome, comfortable and well made ballet slipper

These Capezio women's hanami ballet flats are awesome slippers/shoes. They last a long time, are very sturdy and look great. After trying several other brands we've found this to be the best fit and quality for a ballet flat. Definitely worth the price! I'd recommend these flats to my friends and family.
