The Capezio Men's Romeo shoes in Black (12 M US) are designed with the needs of dancers in mind, combining both style and functionality. Founded by Salvatore Capezio, a cobbler who became synonymous with quality dance footwear, this brand has been a staple in the dance community for years. The Romeo shoes carry forward that legacy, focusing on comfort and performance.

Features

  • Moisture absorbent brushed polyester/cotton lining ensures comfort during extended wear.
  • Features a patented seamless, sculpted arch, providing support and stability tailored to a men's last.
  • Elastic included for individual attachment offers a customizable fit, helping dancers feel secure while performing.

Pros

  • The moisture-absorbent lining keeps your feet dry and comfortable, even during intense performances.
  • The unique construction enhances your movement on stage, making it easier to achieve those intricate steps.
  • Customization options with elastic attachments allow you to personalize the fit to your liking.

Cons

  • Some users may find the sizing runs slightly small, so it’s advisable to consider sizing up.
  • As with many specialized dance shoes, they may require a break-in period before achieving optimal comfort.
  • The suede sole, while great for dance floors, may not offer the best durability for non-theatrical environments.

Slightly smaller than the canvas version.

Compared to the canvas version of this slipper, it's about a half size smaller. I wear a 12 street, 12.5 (with socks) for the Capezio Men's canvas slipper; so would have probably been okay in a 13 in this leather. In the time it would have taken to stretch to be more comfortable, a couple of the stitching points broke. I've had them for 3-4 classes at this point. I'll probably suffer to get some a few more hours out of them, or store them in case a smaller-footed friend wants to try ballet someday. I probably would venture to try the shoe again if the price was in the mid-twenties.

Ballet slipper sizing is hit or miss

I wear women's size 11 street shoe and so tried these to see if they were more comfortable that the very few styles of women's ballet slipper available in my size. They run small, at least one size. I wear women's size 11, I ordered and tried this slipper which is in men's sizes, in both size 11 and 11.5. The size 11 was quite good, but again I would normally wear a men's size 9 so you need to size up at least one maybe 1.5 or two sizes. The size 11.5 fit was very strange, it was as if one of the slippers was much smaller than the other. My advice to you if you are looking for a pair of ballet slippers is to order about 10 pairs at the same time in various styles and sizes on prime wardrobe and try them all on at once to save yourself the hassle of ordering and reordering. In the lot you'll be lucky to find one that fits.
