My daughter dances Puerto Rican folkloric music and she has several pairs of these shoes. They are not only the most durable, but also very comfortable on the feet. If you plan to use them outside the stage (like my daughter does), I recommend taking them to a cobbler to add a rubber sole for better grip.
Nice, but the holes are not punched all the way so it frustrates my daughter when she puts them on.
These shoes are great! I received them yesterday and wore them for four hours at a dance last night and my feet didn't hurt last night and don't hurt today. They are totally comfortable and feel like good quality. When I first tried them on and walked around my house I thought the soles might be a little slippery but wearing them on the dance floor last night I wasn't slipping at all. I followed the advice of other people from the reviews I had read and ordered 1/2 size larger and they fit perfect. And just to let you know I have a very wide foot and normally have trouble with a shoe feeling too narrow and I just got a regular size I didn't even get the wide width and they're perfect
I ordered one half size up as suggested, they were a little big in the back, but once your feet swell from dancing, isn't that what you want? I took these puppies literally straight out of the box right up on stage for a 3 hour dance rehearsal. I could not have been happier with how they held up without being properly broken in. The most ingenious part of these is actually the little notch taken out of the back of the shoe that would usually hit your heel. Why every shoe in the world hasn't done this yet is beyond me because it eliminates the rubbing and bleeding and blistering of the heel which is so common in too stiff shoes. At the end of the night my feet were a little sore, but NOTHING compared to what I was expecting, they're actually rather comfortable. The fuzzy coating on the inside of the shoes will make your feet sweat a little so just be aware of that. I love how low the heel is on this so no teetering issues. Buy these!!!
These ran big. We had to try on a few pairs to get the right feel. We went to her actual foot size unlike how she normally likes her shoes. She has a wide foot but the wide is very wide.
The fitting directions recommended ordering 1/2 size larger than street shoes which turned out to be a good idea so there was no problem with the fit. I was a bit dismayed to see that the soles were cardboard instead of leather, but I may just be a novice about these dance/character shoes and that may be the way they are usually constructed. Overall we were pleased with the performance and fit.
I really like the shoes. Unfortunately, they were way too small. I read some of the reviews saying they were close to true in size. I wear a 7 and ended up buying an 8. Quite a difference. But, at least, I will know in the future that Capizio's run way small.
