Shoe was good quality. But I would recommend sizing up.
As a split-sole Jazz dance shoe, it has basically no arch support (by design, I suppose...). I bought these to wear in a musical stage show performing Scottish Country Dance. I needed a shoe that would let me point my toes (which the split sole allows) but didn't want a ballet slipper or the expense of an authentic Scottish "ghillie." Also needed to be a soft heel to dance quietly. The shoe is affordable, comfortable (considering no arch support), fits well, and seems well made. Although sold as a women's shoe, I converted the size to the equivalent men's size (I'm a men's 8.5, I ordered a women's 11). It fits fine. The heel is soft but non-skid. Very happy with the shoe.
Day 1 with the shoes:-Sizing: On street shoes, I wear a women's 10. Length-wise, the 10 fits perfectly. It doesn't fit like a glove, especially around the ankle (hence the 4 stars) but, I'm glad I can adjust it with the laces.I previously ordered a 10.5 of this product (because most reviews said it runs small) but, it was way too big. I returned it and exchanged for a 10W.-Comfort: I can easily spin, dance, and move effortlessly in them. So far they do get the job done.I only plan to wear for dancing, not to workout or run errands. For me, it's a good alternative for social dancing and practicing when I don't feel like wearing heels.
I was needing some soft shoes for an Irish Dancing class and was able to get fitted at a local store but they didn't have the wide style that I needed. Found the size I needed there and came to amazon to purchase. The sizing was about a the same as I wear in tennis shoes but I tend to get my tennis shoes a little large. Should be a 12-1.5 but typically get a 13 in tennis shoes. Here I purchased 13. There is a small amount of room in the toe and they are tight but they are supposed to be.
It took a little bit to find the right size. I definitely recommend going to Capezio's site and using their size chart there since there isn't a detailed chart with measurements with this listing. That said, I usually wear a youth 2 in street shoes, and I've worn a 2 in jazz shoes before. I was pleasantly surprised to find an offering for feet my size, and in fact the 4.5 wide is perfect for me. My feet measure at around 8.25" long, and the little bit of extra room is nice. They just arrived so I haven't broken them in or performed in them yet, but they seem high quality (as is the expectation with Capezio). I like having the split sole and laces for a flexible fit. The box they came in did look a little roughed-up, but the shoes inside are brand new.
Soft shoe but run narrow
I’ve only worn these dance shoes two times and on the third time the shoelace split and the black part disappeared, and they don’t stay tied. I’m hoping that they will send me at least one if not, two more new pairs. I’ll let you know.
