I have inspected the construction, tested the initial fit and comfort, and evaluated the outsole traction on dry surfaces. Great pair of waterproof boots
These are a great pair of boots from a great brand. They're well made, sturdy, and definitely durable. The leather uppers are well stitched with no frays, and the cushions at the collar are super comfy. The upper lining as well as the tongue on the inside of the boot are well padded & cushioned. The laces are also nice and thick and the eyelets do a good job keeping the laces in place when taking off the boots. My feet are wide (D) but these boots fit just fine. There's no toe cap on these work boots so they're not exactly for serious hiking but they're great for everyday wear, yard work and work wear. They're not steel-toed. I live in the PNW so it's great that they're waterproof and did well on a recent trip to Vancouver, BC. The outsoles are nice and deep and provided good traction. Didn't have any problems on wet pavement or frost.

Very solid boots
I love the Caterpillar brand so I grabbed these up when I saw them. They are very solid boots. I have been wearing them in Northern lower Michigan winter the past weeks. They are warm. Almost too warm for indoor use.I had planned to use these only for nice wear like winter shopping or church because they look so good. I did not want to ruin them. But for indoor use they are too warm for me. My feet are sensitive to heat. Other people may not be bothered. But they are warm.For cold weather outings these are perfect. I will use them on our up North (Michigan UP) beach days in winter. We often go rock hounding during off seasons and harsh weather when the snow melts a bit. These boots are great for this. Especially being waterproof in case a wave splashes up a bit.They are quite comfortable once broken in. At first they were a bit tight but I figured things would settle in some. Keep this in mind. It make take a few times out to get these to fit right on your feet.For the quality and brand name the price is right.
