Comfortable, stylish, and DURABLE.
I wear a suit to work every day and was tired of replacing my dress shoes. Im not actually expected to wear a suit at my job but buying a new suit every once and a while and finding interesting ties is a hobby of mine. I say this to indicate that my wear of suits is a little more casual than most occasions i.e. I wouldn’t suggest wearing these shoes to your wedding (unless you’re wedding is in a factory where heavy machinery can fall on your foot; then these shoes are perfect 👌)I used to buy nice Bostonian or similar shoes, but if you wear a typical dress shoe to work every day, they fall apart in about 4 months. I ordered these to break the cycle of constantly replacing my shoes. Cost is one thing but it’s also just increadibly frustrating to go to work with shoes that are starting to wear and break more each day until you finally decide to replace them.I ordered these shoes and was even more impressed with their looks in person. They were a great fit, but for the first week or so the right shoe kinda poked me in the bottom of my foot from inside the shoe. I was committed though and I’m glad I kept wearing the to break them in. Now they are perfectly comfortable and I love them.Some people have commented that the shoes didn’t keep there original luster long. I experienced this too and tried to keep them oiled and polished but, I eventually took them out on a dessert hike and the day after I realized that the leather actually looks really nice a little scratched with a light coat of dust. I think that since these are a heavy duty shoe it looks unnatural to keep them cleaned and shined, but just like metal rings, after some wear they end up with a nice matte look.Best shoes I’ve ever owned. Well Made, Very Comfortable
This is a really solid, quality leather, good-looking oxford style shoe that you can polish and isn't clunky looking. I'm on my second pair and find them really comfortable. A few things to note are worth mentioning, though. First, I'm normally a 10.5 D (medium) width, but in that size these fit a bit too snug in the toe for me, so I opt for the wide width and find them a perfect fit. Second, while the area around the back perimeter is well reinforced, the actual material they use inside to cover that support is not particularly durable and wears out for me right behind the ankle within about six months. To stop this from happening I apply a small strip of duct tape down the inside of the very back of each shoe, which I eventually have to replace or cover over with an additional strip every so often. A shoe repair shop may have a better solution, I don't know. Third, they have the traditional flat style of heel, rather than the the rocker-back style some other work and recreational shoes now use. I walk an average of about 15000 steps a day, five days a week in these shoes, and find that within about a year or so they are ready for re-heeling. I suppose that's not bad considering the amount I use them, but I probably wouldn't need to re-heel them if they weren't the flat style. Oh, and one other thing–I think the shoe laces are a bit longer than necessary.

A good shoe for a manager
I have bought this shoe three times these past few years. If you're looking for a good work shoe, it cannot get any better than this. I am a retail manager, this means I have meetings with corporate, I climb ladders , and I am on my feet for up to 8 hours at a time. This shoe addresses all of my needs by being a good looking, comfortable , anti slip and steel toe shoe. Speaking of steel toes, this shoe saved my foot one time I accidentally dropped a 24 pack of bottled beer from a height of 5 feet on my foot; I didn't feel a thing. I burn through my shoes fairly fast, these shoes last about 8 months to a year before I decide they are starting to look too worn. If you don't care about them looking too worn they can probably last longer.

Complete and Honest Guide To These Shoes
I wear them everyday for work. I am a big stickler on shining my shoes and I work with a lot of sheetrock and it's a shine killer. I spray some Windex and shine on it after it dries; it cleans up so nice. I thought they were a little bulky when I got them but with jeans or work khakis they look great just like boots but I would say one dress level up from boots. They look like I'm a manager and I feel like one too. The laces are thick and stay tied, the steel toe feels comfortable and the heal breaks in really fast, give it two or three days.I like to wear my shoes a little bit big normally. I wear a 10.5 and order an 11, but I ordered a 10.5 just because, and there is plenty or comfortable room in the shoe. Super non-slipper sole, and it literally sticks to tile just with normal walking brand-new. It sounds like you have glue on your shoes that's how good they stick.

Didn't last 2 months
I really wanted to like these for the safety features and simple classic styling. I was expecting these would be rugged and well made. Unfortunately the material around the back of the ankle began coming apart after a month of light use (see photo). Additionally the left shoe has exacerbated issues with my flat feet to the point that I'm limping after a few hours in them. Tried various arch supports etc in them to no avail. Maybe these were from a bad batch? Shoes at this price point should not show crumbling faux leather from a month of minimal use.

The way Caterpillar sizes their shoes and constructs the steel toe, is heaven for my feet. They make the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn and the sizes are always spot on. I'll be having a hard time buying any other brand.These shoes in particular are my go to daily wear, oxford type shoe. They are exceptionally nice in appearance. Very clean and professional. They rival the Redwing postmans and are infinitely more comfortable. One thing a lot of people miss in their appearance is the importance of shoes.
