Up to the task
I bought these boots for a December trip to Germany and Rome. I knew I wanted a boot that was waterproof but aside from that I didn't have much experience with this type of hiking boot.When they arrived, I was pleased with the look and style, however it was my misunderstanding that they weren't actually leather. I was too close to my trip to reconsider and thought I'd just give them a go. What I found out was that these boots performed quite well. I found them to offer more support and actually be more comfortable walking on cobblestones than my athletic shoes that I brought along. As for being waterproof, I got caught a couple of times in rain and although the boots got wet, my feet didn't. The majority of the trip I wore the boots with thicker socks and my feet didn't get cold in temperatures in the 30's and 40's.

Great boots!
Arrived on time and in good condition. Tried them out a few days later. Walked around the town, visited a few free libraries, the parks, the walkways along the river, and so on. Not too heavy but protected my feet, water proof and easy to clean. Five out of five.

Size irregularities
A nice looking shoe. However, although I ordered it in my size (10), the shoe was difficult to put on because the instep was so low. I had to widen the lace area significantly by increasing the distance between the shoelace holes by pulling the laces further and further apart thus leaving very little length to tie the bow knot.I like the look of the shoe and it is comfortable. Once I get my feet in! Maybe ordering a size larger would take care of the problem but I don’t want my feet floating around the shoe because it’s too large either.I really would not recommend this boot because of fitting issues.
