Great Shoe, Runs Small Though

I had been searching high and low for a tap shoe that fit my son and this was the winner! I ended up ordering two sizes up since previous shoes I ordered were way too small, he's a 7 1/2 street size and I ordered 9 1/2 which fit him perfect!

Small fit

My son has wide feet so I always have to order either a size up or a wide. I was pleased to see that these shoes came in wide.... However they fit like a narrow. They barely fit and are very difficult to get on. And also we have to use very thin socks.

Sizing off but a nice beginners tap shoe.

We initially purchased a pair SIZE 9 M of these locally (nothing other than Medium width available) for my grandchild who normally wears a SIZE 8 WIDE runner. We purchased one size larger knowing the medium width would be snug. However, even being a full size bigger, we could barely get the shoe on wearing a very thin sock. These were returned to the store.I then found these on Amazon and, with our previous experience with this shoe, ordered a SIZE 10 W and they fit perfectly.A very thin sock offers quite a bit of room, a normal sock fits well, and a heavier sock fits snug.So we now feel comfortable knowing these will fit for the entire dance year.So - even though the sizing is considerably off - it's a good beginners tap shoe.I would recommend sizing up (1 1/2 - 2 sizes) as they can always wear a heavier sock until their little feet grow into them.Too tight doesn't get you anything but blisters.

My son does tap so they are great for him

My son does tap so they are great for him. He is a little guy so it was difficult to find shoes for him. They are worth every penny I paid. I will be buying again. Get them a size or two larger. I got a size larger and my son is growing out of them super quick. It doesn't help that he does not wear the tights like the girls so he has to wear sox under them. I have to put on very thin socks to get his feet in them. He doesn't complain though and taps away like a champ in his class.

Sizing is way off

I ordered these shoes for my 2 year old son. He wears size 7 in sneakers and boots. I ordered a 7 1/2 and it was way too small. They need to figure out a better size scale.I had to pay shipping costs to return this and I'm not going to reorder multiple times trying to find the right size. The shoe itself seemed cheap but good enough for the purposes of a 2 year old.

You get what you pay for

Our son said he wanted tap shoes. God bless him, I have no idea where he got the ridiculous idea. HE DOES NOT TAKE TAP LESSONS. Just saying. So I took a chance and got these. They are cheap. They make loud horrendous sound. Thank goodness they were a little tight anyway, so after a few weeks he couldn't even fit in them (he's growing quickly), so I happily gave them away and he's moved on to the next obsession. I do NOT think these are the shoes to get if your child is actually taking lessons or in any way serious about tap dancing!- you will need something higher quality, I can tell. BUT if your kid is curious and you want to see if they will stay interest more than a few weeks, go ahead a order these. Just get a size up. And pray your child will get as tired of them as you will.

AWESOME!

They were exactly as I expected. I got a great deal on them, so I was very nervous about what I would get. To my astonishment, they fit just as expected and have held up tons better than I expected. after 2 years of tap, I am impressed to say they look BRAND NEW! This means a lot, because my son is very hard on shoes. Most shoes don't even last him 6 months.
