New style

These are the new style number after they moved the factory. First couple weeks were like wearing boots made out of concrete. Only way I could could keep from getting blisters early on we’re thin smart wool socks. Now they are great. The best thing I did was wear them in the pasture where they got muddy, wet and dirty. That caused them to stretch out and feel better. I ordered wide and were snug at first and hard to get on and off. Now mink oiled and stretched they are like slippers. But Jesus getting to this point was work. First pair of these lasted 14 years, so it’s worth it. But be ready, they require attention to break in. I wear the same size in these as my ariat square toe work boots.

Sweet boots, well made, a bit tough at first but once broke in you’ll be set, I walk about 6-10 Miles’s a day with powerline mapping, had all the boots and so far the only other option just got discontinued from rocky with he vibram soles, these soles are ok but are wearing already after 14 days of Oklahoma bush pushing.. time will tell.

Great boots BUT…

I have worn these boots for the last 7 or 8 years, and have always bought them from local shops. This year I ordered them here in size 9.5 EE which I always get. They are generally tight and a little hard to put on until I break them in. This year they seem EXTREMELY tight and difficult to get on and off. I’m not sure they will break in enough this time. I have to wonder if these were a lower price than the local shops because maybe they are slightly defective (like an outlet store). The left boot seems worse than the right and when they arrived there was a white ribbon tied on the left boot strap. I’m not certain this is true but I have never had this much difficulty with this boot before. I’m soaking them in mink oil and trying to wear them to loosen them up but wow are they tight. I’m 59 so pretty sure my feet have not grown this year. Recommend going a size up with these from this vendor, or getting them local where you can try them on first. Giving three stars because of the fitment problems this year. I will always where these boots, but I will will get them local from now on and just pay the extra money.

Fake cheap material. Gimmick !

I’m pretty pissed. These boots are almost 400 bucks and I was expecting an exceptional product. I used to have a pair 7 years ago that were thick, real cow hide, high quality material products. I picked these up and instantly felt like cheap gimmick costume boots. So I brushed it off and tried breaking them in today. When I got in I decided to inspect them and looked into details. They are made of effing pleather!!! Not real leather. The snake liner is thin and the label inside says made in Vietnam smh. Chippewa you have lost a costumer for life and I will be telling everyone I know who hunts not to buy new Chippewas. If you’re gonna sell a cheap product then put a cheap price tag not 400 dollars for something that probably cost you 20 dollars to make. Such a disappointment. And I very seriously doubt these will protect against a rattle snake bite. They a paper thin.
