Heavy Duty!

UPDATE: 1/28/12It's been over two years and have been wearing this same pair 5-7 days a week, 9-12 hours a day. I think it's broken in now but not broke ;) Still holding up great, it still has its shape, have gone through 3 pairs of laces and the soles have only worn down 40%. Every few weeks I give it a good scrubbing, air dry and spray with water proofing. It's gone though grease, oil, mud, concrete, some chemicals, poo, gravel, sand...and it still holds up! Very Happy with this pair! ********************-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Being in the military I know the importance of having great fitting footwear. There are military boots I'v worn for years that I'll never replace but unfortunately getting back into the civilian workforce there are some criterias my boots needs to have to work safely in an environmental industrial field. One is steeltoes. I have tried numerous types that I won't name (still good boots but not for me) and usually the problem is the fitment and the steeltoe itself. All I can say is that this pair of boots fits like a glove. Usually with steeltoes the problem I have is either the toes r too tight or too wide and the steel itself digs into the top of my feet. These doesn't. I barely feel the steeltoe. The inside is nicely cushioned and hugs your feet nicely. The soles have great traction. Walking through wet floors, mud, dirt, etc. is cake. It also has good ankle support. Nice and firm.Only thing I can think of that is somewhat of a downer is that these boots are a bit heavy. That's not a big problem, though, coz after a day or two you'll be used to the weight. This is my first pair of Chippewa boots and so far since I've had it for over a month it has been good. I sometimes just wear it when going out not just for work(with a good cleaning of course). All in all, its a great pair. I will be buying again when the time comes!!

I highly recommend these!

I have never owned Chippewa boots before, but I would definitely buy them again. These are great boots! The finish is "scuffy", similar to the blonde construction boots, only this is more of a golden fawn color. The tongue is thickly padded, as is the collar of the boot. The bottom part is a standard lacing system, while the shaft of the boot has speed lacing, so you can have different tensions on your foot and ankle, should you so choose.I also like the fact that this boot has a bit of a rise to it as opposed to the usual flat design of most boots. The sole is "clunky" in appearance but the boots are definitely not clunky to wear; I can walk as quietly in these as I do in a pair of sneakers.I absolutely love these boots, and even though this is only the second day I've worn them, I have already received compliments on what a nice looking boot they are.I would recommend these to anyone.

Fit as I was hoping they would.

For the past few yrs I've had the Chippewa 55069 insulated steel boots. Which are to hot for the summer time usage. So when I found these uninsulated boots. I had to order them. I tied them on & they feel really comfortable. I only walked a few steps, but feel they will break in easily. It says they aren't waterproof , in from the factory, which kinda stinks. But will be waterproofing them over the weekend. Being I work out in all weather.

Great workboot...needs new lining.

I've worn Chippewa boots for several years now, and they always please..at first. The leather and soles will take a beating, but the liner inside the boots falls apart after a few months of wearing them 6-7 days a week, 8-14 hours a day. I think they really need to re-think the linings..

Poor quality or not real Chippewa

They were worn for 1 shift, when they were taken off after the end of the shift, the tongue was all ripped up. They can not be real chippewa. This was after just 8 hours

Workin' man's boots!!

I got these boots for my husband who is constantly out on job sites, walking through who-knows-what, and also climbing ladders and poles. He has worn the same two pairs of boots from when he was military for the past 4 years! So, although I was very skeptical and worried that he wouldn't like them, I got these boots. Surprise!! He loves them! He says they are extremely comfortable, supportive, and he really likes the color and texture of the leather. Great boots! Thanks!

Thick leather construction

These are great looking boots that seem to be high quality . I had to return only because the steel toe was a bit tight . I may reorder in wider
