The zipper is genius!
While I couldn't see it in the photos, there is a zipper on the outside of the shoe (on the side facing in). Not noticeable at all. BUT it allows you to slip in/out of the show without untying the shoelaces. Basically, it turns the boot into a slip-on! I've only had them a few days, but I did walk 5 blocks round trip yesterday with no problems. I did place inside an extra inner sole because I felt the existing sole just wasn't enough of a cushion. Arch support could be better but the extra inner sole helped. The leather is softer because it's tumble leather but not as soft as my pair of calf skin boots. Still, it's a very comfortable shoe and very light.
