Good shoe for mild winders

Really good shoe, but it took me three tries to get a large enough size for socks and comfortable long-term walking. I will Scotchguard the heavy fabric outer layer and be ready for our mild winters. It is attractive because the sole matches, is a good height, and with a side zipper, goes on easily. The wide toebox is comfortable partly because it is relatively soft (I tried some shoes that were very hard and liked these a lot better). The tread will be ok for rain and some snow, but probably not ice.
