I got these for my guy, he said they are probably the most comfortable shoes he's had besides NB. Real comfy around the ankles. He's flat-footed and his feet usually fall inwards at the arch, so every pair of shoes he walks on the side of the shoe. With these, the support is what he needs and the side hasn't fell. They are good on trails and slick surfaces. He loves the look and style. Fits as expected for a size 10.5 (he has wide feet and these don't bother him. Definitely recommend!

Somehow we live in the woods in the pnw and my husband didn’t have any waterproof shoes, or hiking shoes for that matter. These were amazing for rainy yard work. Ruggedly Made Hiking Footwear
My older pair of Columbia men's hiking shoes are now showing heavier wear & I decided to order this product as an anticipated replacement. I'm a 74 year old who still enjoys outings that include hiking/trekking in areas of the Blue Ridge Mountains (Appalachian) in Western North Carolina.The description for the CMP Rigel Waterproof Hiking Shoes seemed to be a good match for my ongoing needs. The shoes ordered have an attractive color scheme (gray with black & yellow highlight areas), and the materials used in manufacturing this footwear appear substantial and durable and quite capable of protecting one's feet. The tread depth and configuration on the base of the shoes present as potentially reliable regarding gripping surfaces and providing dependable traction. I will certainly know more about this feature once I go out for another hiking adventure.The initial comfort seems OK. There's just a bit of up and down movement at the heal of one of the shoes, but it's not excessive & I think it may have more to do with the shoe(s) not being fully broken in as yet. The width is slightly narrow in my opinion and I don't have a wide foot -- more narrow by comparison to other hiking shoes I'm familiar with. My feet don't feel overly cramped when wearing the shoes (with thinner to medium weight socks), but a little more width from about mid-shoe to the toe would have allowed for a more comfortable fit for me personally.The price point is higher than several more familiar US name brands I have owned in the past, but I do recommend this pair of CMP Rigel Hiking Shoes as an attractive and seemingly ruggedly-made product.

Good looking, comfy, waterproof...
These CMP hiking boots combine some nice style with a lot of functionality. The soles are great for working and hiking through the sandy brush, and provide a ton of grip. The uppers are stitched together very neatly, with clean and strong seams and grommets.For sizing, the shoes fit spot-on at my 10.5 US size. I have a wider foot in the E+ range, and these accommodate my feet just fine. The arches are appropriately high as well, allowing these to maintain good support all day without any aches.They're also holding up perfectly after a number of uses, largely due to the thick sole and strong uppers. I'd guess these to be built for the long haul, making them a good value at the price point.The waterproofing is very effective, as well, especially through puddles and wet underbrush. The tradeoff is that they don't breathe all that well, but that's often to be expected with good waterproofing. Not a deal breaker.Altogether, these look great, they function great as solid hiking or work boots, and they're built durable and strong...two thumbs up!

Quality weatherproof hiking shoes!
Very pleased with the quality of these shoes. I was a little concerned with the fact that they were only offered in 11.5 and not 11, but they still fit fine.Like all good hiking shoes, these will need to be broken in. Wear them for short periods of time to start, and then build of the time and walking distance as they start to break in. I did get a small blister on my heal when I first used these shoes.I am very happy with stability provided by the uppers as well flexibility and traction of the soles. I do wish that there was better arch support, but the insoles can be removed and replaced with an insole that provides more support.

Comfortable high end hiking shoes
I dinged this one star simply because after wearing these for a few months, they still don’t give as much as I think they should. In other words, they are a little stiff. However, everything else is perfect on these. They are truly water resistant and do support your ankle and are comfortable to wear for hours. I’ve had a few pair of these in my lifetime and these are right near the top. Highly recommended.

Solid hikers that deserve your attention
I am a long time hiker going back to my days in the Marine Corps. I generally prefer boots but some lightweight hikes are good to have a shoe that is less restrictive. I have struggled to find hiking shoes I like and I have tried many. These are as good as any I have tried. They are very supportive, waterproof, and have dense grippy soles that hold onto the path beneath you. It has a nubuck leather upper that has been treated to keep things water tight. I would prefer Gore-Tex, but at this price, I am not complaining. In addition to being functional, these hikers look good so you will be fine to wear these out and about with shorts or pants. CMP is an established Italian company that is relatively new to the states. They make a wide variety of higher end clothing and shoes/boots. I am glad they are here because these shoes are outstanding. I recently received a pair of their high end boots and they are also phenomenal. These shoes definitely run small, so size down of your not sure. Easy recommendation for me here. Great value and a great hiker.
