Nice shoes. Comfortable. Good cushioning.
I gave three stars only because I did try these on, after discovering various issues, and they were extremely comfortable, so it's a shame I have to return them, and because the seller obviously tried to pull a fast one, I will not exchange or purchase from them again. To begin, both soles are cracked--clearly cracked. Then, there are scuff marks and at least one spot where there is a tear they tried to cover up with dye and buffing. I know leather has blemishes of natural consequence, but that is not what this is. Also, obvious gluing of the sole all around the soles on both shoes. The bottoms of both soles were perfect however. Finally, the box was damaged, with the inner paper wrap around the shoes crinkled so much it was obvious it has been opened and closed many times. Also, the paper inside the shoe toes to help stretch them out was used with obvious showing of pulling out and pushing in several times. Tacky! The shoes are gorgeous and other than all the defects and wear, they are well made. I wish I could keep them and as I said, I would exchange them, but I'm disappointed these even made it to me or any consumer in this condition. I'm big on customer service and so this kind of service is a deal breaker for me.
These were great quality, but i was worried about the back eating into my skin. I returned them to get a smaller size in black
I have several pairs of Cobb Hill shoes that I love, and got these for barn shoes. Tried them on when they arrived, thought the left one was a bit wide in the heel, but figured with socks they'd be okay. But no. The left heel is so wide that even with socks and a moleskin addition it still flops on my foot. I practically need duct tape to keep it in place. The right shoe is a perfect fit. I am about ready to throw them away, and I've had them for about two weeks. They are really attractive shoes, with a nice study sole and look great with jeans. I am really disappointed.
I, perhaps like you, came across these loafers shortly after being informed by various sources that they were a wardrobe essential this season. I did not want to spend a lot of money on shoes I would wear once or twice, requiring pre-stretching and prophylactic bandaids, before ultimately landing in the depths of my closet, hiding away with the too stiff jeans and itchy sweaters reeking of my regret. These days, comfort rules and I'm comfortable with that, too. So imagine my surprise, after reading reviews that mentioned "weird fit" and other annoying details, that I really like them. I know, right? I haven't worn a pair of hard leather shoes with regularity in nearly two decades and yet they are officially in the rotation. What makes this even more remarkable is that I am a pedestrian. I live in Manhattan which means that when I am not lounging about in my small, over-priced rental apartment, I am on my feet either walking or standing somewhere waiting to walk–and I can do this in these shoes. I haven't needed to stretch them or apply moleskin to my heels or instep, either. They were out-of-the-box comfy which is more than I ever expected from any "must have" shoe, let alone a pair of loafers with mediocre reviews. So here I am, hopefully raising your expectations, with no regrets.
These shoes are way too tight and was not true to size.
