Awesome Shoes..!

Well, these shoes are simply great. I've been going back and forth searching for a good pair of winter shoes against the snowy days of Buffalo. Well, I think I hit the jackpot with this one. I had a limited budget and an interest in good water and weather proofing. Have to say, this one here is worth every discounted buck. I've been through a lot of snow even at the start of using these shoes and they have required not much break-in time. Kept my feet real warm without any seepage even in snow that was just below my ankle. Some cons though do come along with this. It is not of exact fit for slightly broader fit. My size is a 9.5. But didn't find a wider version for that in the size list. So browsing through reviews and a lotta research on Columbia shoes, I ordered a 10 and what do you know? They fit just perfect. Also the shoe rises along the just above the ankle. That area hurts a bit at first as the shoe is new and stiff. Goes off in a day or two though.Totally worth it.

Good enough for Military use!

Great boot. When I buy boots I always do a search by shoe size since my feet are size 15 wwide. Columbia was the only decent looking boot in my size so I ordered them. I always take a chance with clothes and footwear and I have enough online clothes/footwear that don't fit I could start my own clothing store. I was totally surprised with these boots even though I have to wear a thick sock with them. Really warm and comfortable. After buying these boots I felt safe buying another pair of boots from Columbia, I ordered the Buga Plus III that are now my full time snowmobile boots. Columbia is a great boot and the only negative I have is they're a tad wide for driving, I have a 2010 Prius with extended seat stays but these are to wide only because the pedals are close together. I wish I would have had these boots while serving 30 yrs in the Navy!

Beautiful near-perfect boots

These Columbia boots are well-made and visually stunning. Just beautiful eye-candy boots. They fit as expected too. I wear 11D in Asics running shoes, and sure enough, these Columbia boots fit *perfectly*. With even a little extra wiggle room for my toes. Which is definitely NOT what I expected, due to many erroneous reviews (advising to order a half or whole size bigger). Definitely order your normal size, do not even go a half size bigger. The rubber soles are well designed. They grip the ground as they should. The laces are cylindrical / rope-like, not flat, which I like. Nice metal rings for the laces at the top. Other materials on these boots are of decent quality. I wouldn't say premium, but then again, these boots sell for less than $80 USD. Did I mention they are easy on the eyes? The boots' biggest & only flaw is the utter lack of arch support. The inner soles are as flat as a pancake. And I have high arches, so this is a problem. I won't return these boots, however. I'm keeping them because they are so good-looking & everything else is perfect. I'll be spending a few extra dollars on arch support inserts. Not a big deal I guess.

VERY comfortable, fits 1/2 size small

These are very comfortable and very warm and they are lightweight for a boot. They do fit around 1/2 size small, I normally wear a 13 and I ordered 14 in this boot and they fit great. If I would have went for my normal size 13 (asics, etc) then these would not have fit.I really like the boots, they appear to be well made and they are very comfortable for a boot. They are nearly athletic shoe comfortable! They are definitely warm, I look forward to testing them out in deep snow to see how waterproof and well they keep my feet warm. I will follow up on this review if they do not perform as expected. So far though on a few cold rainy days they have worked excellent.

Very warm and well made

I took a gamble and ordered these online. I normally wear a men's 9.5 D/E shoe. These fit pretty much as expected, and I have just enough room for a heel-cup and 1 pair of thick socks. The winters here in the Upper Peninsula can be quite harsh, and these have kept my feet warm and dry so far this year. The only way I'd wear these for more than a couple hours is if I did not have to come inside, and it was well below freezing. I walked to work (20 min) in these when it was about 25F outside, and my feet were sweating pretty good!

Great boot but seems to run small

I loved the look of the boot but even with light weight socks on, it was way too tight. I normally take a size 11.5 but it looks like if I'm going to wear heavy (winter) socks with this boot, I'll have to go up a full size to 12.5. We'll see when the new ones arrive but I will say this is a great looking boot and the the tread looks perfect for use in snow and mud.I gave it 3 stars only because it didn't fit as expected. I expect I'll rate the larger size much higher.

Warm And Toasty

I have always been a fan of Columbia's outdoor wear. These boots are no different, great fit, warm, waterproof and have excellent tread on them. My experience with Columbia's winter style boots is to buy one size larger than you would typically wear, to accommodate for the insulation, thick socks etc... Not only are these incredibly warm and very very comfortable, but they also weigh next to nothing. They feel very much like you are wearing a pair of mesh running shoes. Very nice to be able to wear boots that don't weigh 5+lbs and make your back hurt lugging them around on your feet. I can't say enough good things about them, not to mention with Amazon's boot sale, I was able to snag them for 20% off as well. If you are looking for something comfortable, warm and waterproof for the upcoming winter, you can not go wrong with these boots.
