Cute boots
Love these boots. This is my second pair in a new color. Not big or bulky and kept my feet warm and dry. Wore them while on vacation and did a lot of walking. They were very comfortable.

Love these boots. This is my second pair in a new color. Not big or bulky and kept my feet warm and dry. Wore them while on vacation and did a lot of walking. They were very comfortable.
A year prior to purchasing these shoes, I bought a $45 pair of mid-calf waterproof boots for my trip to Iceland. They served me well, but after a week of daily wear, I was limping because my feet were destroyed. This year, for my trip to Ireland, I knew I would be 3x more walking than I did in Ireland, so I decided to hunt for a pair of back up shoes. Style-wise, these Colombia boots seemed to fit what I had in mind—a tennis shoe that’s warm, waterproof and appropriate for walking and hiking. And, I was so happy that these delivered in all areas. I wore these shoes for an entire week in Ireland, and I have no complaints. I actually have delicate pinky toes that can get easily irritated even in fairly comfortable shoes. I also have poor circulation in my feet which can be painful in cold weather. These Colombia boots gave me no issues. They are light like tennis shoes, and just overall amazing. There were days in Ireland when there was wind and rain, but my feet stayed warm and dry as I was exposed to such weather. Size was just right. They were a bit snug with thick thermal socks, but not uncomfortable. Thermal socks were not needed though. I wore these every day of my one week trip. For size reference, I do have somewhat slender feet. I highly recommend.
Very warm and comfortable, not bulky like some boots.
These Columbia Minx Shorty snow boots are so cute. I just love them! Best part is they are functional as well. We get winters here. Cold temps, snow, slush...all that. Sometimes we get a lot of snow and that's when I pull out the heavy weight boots. Other times, we get just a few inches and these are perfect for that. They do well on the ice, keep my feet dry and are comfortable and warm. The only issue is that they do run small. I typically wear a 6 in boots and that's what I ordered these in. There is no way I could wear thick socks with these. Luckily it isn't an issue as the coldest we typically get in the winter is single digits (not consistently) and these actually kept my feet fairly toasty with thinner socks. Any colder than that though and you'd definitely want to wear thicker socks so that would mean going up a half or full size.
These are good boots, the tread is great for icy hiking trails, they're very soft and flexible, but I will say they are narrow, as some other reviews have said. I had to risk these as a last-minute purchase before a week-long trip to Yosemite in the snow- my previous snow boots died. I was able to break them in and they were fine for light hiking and playing in the snow with my kids, my feet stayed warm and dry with wool socks. I'd say if your feet are wide at all, don't get these (unless you can find them in a wide size). I'm a regular size 8, with very high arches. I wrapped my baby toes in athletic tape just to be sure on the first couple days of the trip, and I'm glad I did. After the first 2 days I hiked tape-free and my feet were fine. They are very cute boots, not clunky in the least, can be worn with jeans easily for going out to dinner on a cold night. All in all I'm happy with them, but I wouldn't trust these on any serious hikes!
I haven't worn the boots out in the cold and/or snow yet, as I bought them for my treks to Virginia and D.C. in cold weather, so they may have to wait until next winter for FULL use. Our REALLY cold days are, probably, over for now here in South Texas (YES, it gets COLD...in the 20s!!), so these will be kept as my cold weather traveling shoes. Trying them on and wearing them around the house, for now...they felt great!! Very easy to slip on, soft and comfy...no pinching.I, ordinarily, wear 7 & 7-1/2 (up from 6-1/2 & 7, from years past) in sandals and closed-toe shoes, and 8 or 8-Wide, in boots. I've begun getting boots in 8-1/2 (8-1/2 WIDE, if possible) to give my feet room because of bunions. I wanted these in 8-1/2 WIDE in the BLUE color, but they weren't available, so I took a chance on the 8-1/2 REGULAR. There is enough length in the shoe, and 'give' in the width to make them comfortable. With thin socks, there is, about, 3/4" to 1" of room in the toe, but I plan on wearing THICK socks with them, which will fill the gap nicely.I'm awaiting a pair in BLACK that are 8-1/2 WIDE so I'll be able to tell if there is much difference in the sizing and comfort level.Beautiful boot, comfy, and very nice-looking, as well. They seem well-made, but time will tell. I agree with others who've said that the COLUMBIA brand is a good brand. I have several pairs of their hiking boots, and they've all held up well.
