Wear these shoes, they are pure quality

Excellent shoes for tracking and hiking, with good grip on the ground even in mud and rocks. I'm 68 years old, and they're a great help for these activities. They fit perfectly; I'm a 7 1/2, and that size fits me perfectly. They're very comfortable and soft. I highly recommend them.

Great hiking shoes!!

I love these shoes. Extremely comfortable. Toe box gives me plenty of room for my arthritic painful big toe joint and no break in period. Plus they are waterproof!I couldn't ask for a better shoe that met my needs!!

Very comfortable but squeaky and run large

I’ve been wearing Columbia hiking shoes both on the trail and as my everyday around town shoes for years—and they look it! But I have had a tough time finding any of their newer styles that fit as well or that I like as much as the old. There have been some weird design changes with the heel that always seemed to hit my ankle in an uncomfortable way. But, finally, this one is a keeper!Sizing runs large. I’m usually a solid 7M but ordered these in both 7 and 6.5 and ended up keeping the 6.5. The 7 was wearable but too much extra room past the toes. Tried with socks of varying thickness and the 6.5 was the clear winner in terms of comfort.Took them for a test drive around the neighborhood and found them to have great support and stability, and they kept my feet dry in wet grass. They look great, not too bulky except maybe the sole, which juts out quite a bit more from the heel than I’m used too. But I believe this is part of the new traction system.Only real negative is that they make SO much noise walking on pavement! We’re talking a distracting and embarrassing level of noise. Each step sounds like the bottoms are sticking to the side walk (they don’t actually feel sticky to the touch). On grass, gravel, and dirt they are silent. Hoping this changes with some break in time, but I’ve dinged a star for this. For hiking I’d give these an A+—but on paved surfaces, just don’t plan on sneaking up on anyone!

Great light weight hiking shoe

Great light weight hiking shoe. Bought these for a month long hiking trip in what I knew would be a rainy/muddy environment. They got a lot of use! The shoe is steady and provides good traction for a sneaker. It's not a replacement for a good hiking boot but definitely serves its intended purpose.

Bought for a trip to Alaska

Bought these for a trip to Alaska where I plan on doing some moderate hiking, nothing too difficult, but I wanted something that had some traction and was waterproof. These Columbia ones fit the bill and I had been looking at them for a while and decided to purchase when they went on sale. The Columbia store online itself did not have my size so I turned to Amazon and was lucky enough to snag a pair. So far, they are meeting my expectations, comfortable to wear and walk in all day. Not sure of the waterproof feature yet, but time will tell. I love the simple color pallet and feel they will match a lot of things. I think my only complaint are that the laces are a little long and flop around a bit, but I can tuck them out of the way. I am usually a 6.5 to a 7. I originally purchased a size7 and found they ran a little big I am not planning on wearing thick socks, so I reordered a 6.5 and they fit perfect.
