Durable and gnarly
Gnarly sandals. I've put roughly 100 miles on thus far and barely any wear on them. Negotiating the strap to put them on and off isn't difficult as I thought they'd be. I pack them on long hikes as a backup. But done a few day hikes with them and love them. Great product.

I really wanted to like these, I've been wearing Tevas since the late 80's as an18Z. While I was in SF I used my Tevas to cross streams and swamps to keep boots/socks dry. I've tried other brands, but this was the first original concept I'd seen in quite awhile and since Tevas don't last like they used too and are expensive I decided to give these a try, after all with a name like combat they better be bad to the bone.Pros; Came with a key fob, seem well made from a material standpoint.Cons; I needed to sit down to put them on, big toe strap was uncomfortable, dorsum strap buckle against skin with no padding when tightening pinches skin, no adjustment for cord that runs around entire foot, footbed does not conform to foot, cord is uncomfortable around heel and side of foot, foot slides off rear with just a few steps even with dorsum strap tight. I live in SW Florida now and I wear sandals all day everyday, beach, fishing, exercising and gardening. They have to be tough but also comfortable for 12 hour days. I'm surprised at the 5 star reviews, perhaps some people are lucky enough to have a foot that fits perfectly. I gave it 2 stars for the concept but unfortunately sent them back. Here's hoping Tevas get back to their roots and makes a sandal that is affordable and lasts for more than 8 months.

Wife demands to know why I can't just wear "normal" sandles
I love these. Looked like they might be a headache to put on, but I watched a review before buying and they're not complicated to put on. They offer a great compromise between the convenience of a flip flop and the security of a more sturdy sandal.Not too long ago, I tripped going up the stairs with my 1 year old when my cheap, worn-out sandals caught on the lip of a step. I managed to protect her as I fell, but it spooked me. I've been removing my sandals every time I go up or down the stairs holding my kid since then. I have a little more faith in this pair and will probably develop enough confidence in them to wear them on the stairs.My wife's reaction to these had me rolling with laughter. When she saw them she described them as "disturbing", demanded to know why I couldn't just wear "normal" sandals, and said she wanted me to return them (I don't plan to). To be fair, I have a closet full of 5.11 clothes, a drawer full of holsters, and both of my vehicles are 4x4 overland rigs. Guess you could say my tastes are a little - utilitarian... She was hoping at least my sandals would be "normal", but thanks to Combat Flip Flops they're not.

Malfunction in manufacturing.
The rope was way way to short. I could not put my foot in. There was no adjustment at all. Yet I figured a manufacturing size defect. I'm reordering and hoping for correction on second pair I. Going to order again.
