Really comfortable, attractive boots but order carefully, returns are difficult!
I was on a bender to find some fashionable black boots; decently well-made, comfortable, a steampunk/goth flair, price point under $125. I also wanted them to be returnable because buying footwear online is a guessing game. I have bad feet and must wear orthotic inserts. I research the size information and descriptions by other buyers carefully because of this...but this item had none. I am always leery of this because it screams 'foreign seller' but...I don't want to be that ethnocentric; I'll buy from anyone who can present a quality item especially when crippling foot pain is something I battle with.So these boots came and were exactly as advertised. Light, exceedingly comfortable, and good looking. These could easily be worn all day but...while they do look nice, if one looks closely, they have cut corners. The ornamentation on them is not well-attached (but neither is it meant to do anything but sit there). There is no reinforcing stitching; attachments are done with small rivets or glues. The boots do not appear like they should be worn for anything but light activity; standing around or sitting, seeing and being seen, light walking on good surfaces. I do not know what their durability would be and I would not trust them as a 'go on a heavy travel' long distance through cities walking boot or feel they could go onto trails or rocks. But, no problem, I still had other boots to try and these were listed as 'free return.'When it was all said and done, though these were the most comfortable, I chose a more expensive boot that was made of much heavier leather with rugged soles because I needed to be certain it would last. After taxes etc this item cost over $70; it wasn't exactly inexpensive.When I tried to return them, I basically got "we are located in China, can we please remit x% of the cost of the boot to you so you will keep them because of what it will cost to ship them back here?" Which...was certainly not my preference but they were trying to make lemonade out of lemons and I appreciated that much...I think Amazon would have paid for the return shipping costs but at the end of the day I could also see them taking quite a financial hit for this order. I ended up accepting the offer (and now I have way too many pairs of black boots) but feel the company should have disclosed the actual circumstances.I have bought many really great items from China. People say rotten things about buying from Chinese businesses and it's unfair, in my opinion. Every time I've had a problem sellers have gone out of their way to resolve the issue in some manner that was reasonable for all parties. So this wasn't indicated well, and I'm writing about it here.But back to the boots, to help people out. My feet are on the wide side and these fit great. There was plenty of room for my orthotic insert. The size was the size; again out of all the pairs I tried these were like walking on clouds. I don't know how they made them this comfortable. So the product can be ordered with confidence that it is a very nice boot to enjoy, or at least that part was my experience. Just make sure you aren't getting it to 'shop around' thinking you will send it back easily if you don't want it for a frivolous reason...which is what I did. These folks are not on the try before you buy program!

Chinese Sizing
Niceish boots, but definitely Chinese sizing. They cant make a shoe the is the correct size to save their life. Bought a size 12 and it is more of a size 10.5 to a 11 at most. Note if you are going to buy go up a size.

Nice looking comfortable boots, material not real leather!
These combat boots are surprisingly comfortable, especially since I have wide feet. They were easy to put on as there is a zipper to the side of the boot. The boot fit really well and I think they look great...the quality of the material though is a bit sketchy, not sure if they are real leather; the material look more like manufactured leather. I like that they could look great as gladiator like boots (for my holoween costume). Not sure about the value, not sure if they will last long term as the material does not look like real leather!
