Well made, nice looking, confusing, not very comfortable.
Whenever I get the opportunity to try a new brand of shoe in a size women's 8 wide, I jump at the chance. It isn't easy to find a shoe that fits my 8 wide foot and is at the same time also comfortable. I was especially excited to be able to get to try these Cushionaire Vibe braided two band sandals with memory foam because in the back of my mind I thought that I remembered a shoe brand named Cushionaire from years ago when I was young.My first impression of these Cushionaire braided two band sandals was that the shoebox that they came in looked quite small. I thought that the shoebox was the smallest that I had ever seen for a size women's size 8 wide shoe. I am all for less waste and smaller shoeboxes but I was very concerned because I thought that my foot was surely bigger than the shoebox was. That meant that the shoes inside would almost surely be too small for my feet.My first impression of these braided sandals is that they were very well made. The shoes have a nice shape, are made of nice materials and have nice even stitching. The sandals are a good bit fancier than the plastic clogs that I usually wear, so wearing them will be quite an adjustment for me.When I first tried putting these sandals on I could not get my left foot inside the the sandal past the first band. I turned the sandal over and it is clearly marked as being a size 8w. I decided that these Cushionaire 8w braided sandals must be cut on the narrow side. I was very disappointed that they didn't fit my feet and I gave up on trying to wear these sandals for several days.I decided to review these sandals today and as part of my review, I decided to try them on again. I also decided that I would measure the sandals on a piece of blank copy paper and include those measurements. At the last minute I decided to also measure my foot on a separate piece of blank copy paper. Imagine my surprise when the measurement of my left foot matched the measurement of the left sandal almost to a T!Because the two measurements that I made on the sheets of copy paper were so close I decided that there was no good reason why these sandals wouldn't fit my feet. I decided to force my feet into them. It worked! I got both of my feet to fit in the sandals. I wore them around a bit and found that the left sandal felt a bit loose while the right sandal felt a bit tight. I had measured only the left sandal and my left foot, so I checked the bottom of the right sandal. It is clearly marked as a size 8, not as a size 8w.Of course it is not a good thing to order a pair of shoes and get two shoes in two different sizes. I will deduct one star for that. In my case my left foot is slightly larger than my right foot so in a way this pair of sandals in the mismatched size of 8w left and 8 regular right might just work out for me.With that said, I find that these Cushionaire Vibe braided two band sandals seem to lack much of any cushioning. I find them to be uncomfortable. I keep in mind that I tend to wear loose plastic clogs most of the time. These sandals are much nicer than my usual plastic clogs so I feel that some discomfort has to be expected, however, these sandals are advertised as being comfortable when they are not.Four stars for these well made, nice looking, mismatched size, not very comfortable, Cushionaire Vibe braided two band sandals. Very comfortble and versatile
I usually wear a 7.5 in closed toed shoes, and 8 in sandals because I don't like my toes or heels too close to the edges. I ordered these in an 8 and they fit perfectly. The braided straps are so comfortable and soft, not tight at all, and no gap. Shoes like this often gap on me, so I can see how if you have wide or chubby feet, they may feel tight at first. But I love the snug upper because my feet don't slide around when I walk. I was also concerned about the light footbed, because sometimes that can mean footprint stains. But these have the kid of texture you could easily wash off, or wipe clean. They are not cloth. I'm really happy with these sandals, they'll be so versatile for spring and summer.
