Tough enough
Ive owned a few pairs of Dan Post over the years and they’ve always been a solid choice. These Cottonwoods seem to live up to that. I could’ve gone down a half size with these. Fit fine at first but they went past broke in to loose in a couple days. I cut the toe section off a pair of foam inserts to leave room for my toes and put them under the factory inserts and they’re good to go. I wear them as work boots and they’re comfortable enough for long days and look good doing it. Like a lot of cowboy boot fans they are artwork to me. And the more real world patina and age the better. Especially with good leather like these are made with. Having knocked these around a few days now they look all the better. The soles are blake stitched and have good traction but the wear I’m seeing on the heels already, while not excessive, I’m thinking that adding some heel plates would be a good idea. Keep in mind theyre being worn on concrete asphalt gravel dirt mud grass and deep weeds so don’t let that scare you off. They’re made in Mexico and I can say from experience they know how to make damn good boots down there. Build and all the stitching is on par with any other brand. I say they are a good bet. Get ya a pair.

Comfortable Classic Western Boots With Quality Leather
I’ve worn western boots for over 20 years now. I chose these Dan Post Cottonwood boots because the Cottonwood style really caught my eye. All of my past boots have been leather-soled, so I wanted to give a rubber sole a try. The rubber sole is quieter, has better traction on smooth floors, and can’t be noticed when looking down at them. The upper leather is described as premium leather that’s soft to the touch, with a smooth finish that should condition and age nicely over time. The toe shape is what I’d call a slightly pointed round toe. While wearing them, they look like a traditional cowboy boot without being extreme or cramped — somewhere between a round toe and a true J-toe.The fit is true to size. The insole feels like a standard upgraded insole — not that cloud-like softness some boots claim, but comfortable and supportive. With the premium leather, color design, and traditional-looking toe shape, these’ll carry you where you’re goin’.

Comfy and looks nice
Great boots so far. Not sure how long they will last until years later but seems like they would. Comfy and seems durable while looking good

Description Misleads
Good quality boot and fits great, however the description says Round Toe but they’re more pointed than round. Not like old school roach killers but not a true round toe.

Fits Like Boots Did 50 Years Ago
These boots fit as I hoped right out of the box. My feet are narrow across the heels and wide across the ball. My arches are a little lower than average. I am slim with narrow ankles and calves. Boots made today are made for people with fat feet, ankles and legs. It's refreshing to find a pair of boots that I can wear. Yeah, they're a little loose in the heel and ankle but at least I can wear them relatively comfortably. They're not like a custom boot but better than the run of stuff you find in boot stores, at least around here. At +-$200 they're a real bargain.
