The shaft of the boot is not flared out like most others and because of that they fit well under jeans if you choose to wear like that. I like the boots. The color was not durable and was an unpleasant color. I kept the boots, polished them a very dark blackish brown. That improved them much. The SMELL!!! I left them on the porch for MONTHS. the smell was from their manufacturing process I guess. They reeked!!! I can hardly notice the smell now. And I can put them in the house now. The price was right. I think they were returned because of the SMELL!!!
