Worth every single penny!!!

Love these boots, and the comfort. Truly built to last!!! The last pair I owned lasted over 2 years before the toe stiching started coming apart. 10/10

I recommend

The first package was stolen from me when I was away for work for a whole Sunday. I returned it. My package was stolen. I wrote and they sent me a new one. This is very wonderful. I am very grateful. The quality is excellent.

Great boots

Really happy with this purchase. Boots are really comfortable, I’m a carpenter and wear them 11 hours a day. So far they have held up great. Took a week to break in. I wear a 10.5 us in most of my shoes. Before I purchased these I had thorogood heritage size 10 us. Amazon suggested I get an 11us which was too big so I exchanged for a 10 which was too small and finally got the 10.5us which fit well. The toe box is quite tight, Not too tight but almost. I have slightly narrower feet than normal so I went for the M(narrow)I really like the style and leather. I prefer them over my thorogoods.Highly recommend these boots.

Disappointed for a boot of this name. Great leather and good look really bad sole and quality

Great look but that’s about it, stitching has unraveled outsoles have an odor because they are porous and the toes are really tight for my narrow foot. Footbed is comfy but have worn them a lot but not to a worksite.*********updateSole is deteriorating off from the inside out, minimal time on the job site and about 90% office environment. 6 months of use and not everyday and they are falling apart. Stay clear if you are looking for the reliability this name used to carry. Also sole is sponge so water easily saturates the sole and begins to stink. The outsole will stink but the rest of the boot is fine. Wish I would have returned when I had issue with stitching on day three. Stay clear if you want a long lasting boot.

Good bye old friends. Hello new friends.

These boots wear in like slippers and are very repairable but eventually everything must die. My old boots were from August 2015 and I have had them resoled five times and restitched once. I wear these for a factory job and enjoy running around from place to place and occasionally being around stuff that requires steel toes. For longevity of the boots going to an independent shoe repair place is much more affordable than Danner recrafting. You’ll pay almost as much as new boots for danner to do it whereas my local guy will do it for $60 cash and when he gives them back to me they look new. Anyways, great boots. I’m happy to have a new pair to beat on for 6 or 7 years.

Not feelin this boot

Purchased these for work in an indoor environment with a mix between construction and finished spacing. 95% of my time in these shoes is on concrete or asphalt.Leather:Good, not great. Work boot afterall and at the price point I’d say it is adequate. Not as nice as my red wing heritage boots, but fits about in line with other red wing work boots.Construction:Initially I was very, very pleased. Thr boots look great right out of the box. Leather is stiff. Boot makes you believe it cans handle some rough stuff. After about 4-5 months of wear everything is mostly ok. I had a stitch come loose though. It did not spread so I’m not prepared to have Danner fix it.Design:The design sucks. The tongue is too short at the top with too much material at the base. It will bunch up somewhere and slide off to the side in minutes. I’m way past break in. In fact I could use new soles. The tongue on both boots is still a major annoyance to me. Speed hooks at the top are poorly placed they’re way up top and far in. Might be due to the tonge. I’m basically borderline tightening the lace directly against my ankle. Sometimes the lace pops loose. They’re also lined along the bottom front to back. Ankle area is not. Advertised as unlined. I’d disagree. Little warmer than I’m used to.The soles:Insole is crap, more on that in a minute. Outsole is very comfy, great flexibility over time and I wouldn’t say that I’ve ever had traction issues. Mind you I’m not working outside and I don’t live in an area with lots of snow or ice. ~5 months of wear, 9-13hrs x5 days a week and I’m thinking of a resole, maybe. These may not be worth it to me.Fit:To be fair I think it’s difficult to get my size down. I tried a size 7.5, 8 and 8.5 all in D width. New boots in D width usually fit me quite snug and. These I ended up with an 8.5 EE, and for a minute I was still second guessing that size. They did loosen up and more than I expected in fact. But I don’t have any room to change the insoles out with ones that I’ve liked in the past. I’d need thin ones similar to what these come with.Bottom line I’m ready to move on to something else, but I’ve enjoyed many comfortable miles out of these. I walk an avg of 10k steps a day and these have been mostly great, there’s just some things keeping me from really liking them.

Insightful boot design. 4.5 stars.

I am overall pleased with the boots in the wide style. (I think they are the best steel toe boot I have tried so far, even among the Red Wing's and Chippewa's I've bought ... and I hate steel toe boots but am required to wear them; they don't have the larger toe box of a Keen boot though they are mostly sufficient in width, but do have a small degree of large toe friction perhaps because I am currently wearing them looser, with a bit more side to side foot freedom, which may continue until they are fully broken in). They are somewhat long but fit pretty well otherwise on my wider feet... they may be a bit long to avoid steel toe interference when toes are closer to the boot toe box instead of a them having a slightly wider steel toe box than they do. I looked into sending them back for the next size down, but had worn them out of my living room and am now fairly certain they would have been a bit small if I did, especially when crouching down when toes creep toward the front of the boot. Like some of the other reviews say, they can tax the ankles while breaking in, so I now wear them a bit loose along with good quality socks and have been pleased with the very low heel slippage since they are very well proportioned; not over-wide at the heel or other areas and not too high or small even for my high arches; I hope and believe they will continue to improve in fit as they soften. I will be looking at future Danner purchases for sure.
