Great quality Made in the USA (with proud little cloth tag with USA flag sewed on exterior seam).
These are my first pair of Danner Combat boots. My first introduction to quality US Made boots were the improved combat boot made by Belleville circa 1999 after six years of nothing but pre-Vietnam era "Black Cadillac" all leather combat boots that were durable but far from comfortable, at least not for most and not without breaking them in for several years and many miles. My Belleville boots were extremely comfortable and broke in very well.Anyway after being in storage from 2005 until Fall 2016 I began using them again on the job as a tow truck driver. After all those years the glue holding the sole on finally gave up the ghost. The boots are still good, just have to get them to a reputable cobbler to be resoled. Kicking the spoons on wheel lifts was too much for the aged glue.I first bought a pair of Georgia Boots Steel Toe Logger Boot ("America's Hardest Working Boot" ---but they don't say Made in the Dominican Republic on their motto card attached to the boot from a local Bay Area work store. They lasted less than month when the seperate heel section started to separate from the sole. To the brick and mortar store and Georgia Boot's credit the store did replace my boot with receipt with a brand new pair. That said I am not so confident the new pair of boots will hold up to heavy duty use. The Georgia Boot Logger Boot is comfortable, but nothing like my Danner Acadia's. Granted the Acadias are not steel toe.Even without insoles (they don't ship with insoles, guess that is a Danner thing) they are supremely comfortable. As an former Enlisted Marine we'd hear a few guys back in the day willing to invest some serious $ in an ultra high quality combat boot, and Danner's were the stuff of legend. Then out of the price range of a young Lance Corporal, we sufficed with the old black cadillacs issued in boot camp, and envied the luxury of such a high quality boot.Anyhow I LOVE these boots. The GoreTex is cool even on hot days, they are totally impervious to water, and the stitching and leather quality is top notch. In addition to the little fabric tag on the exterior of boot outer top seam of the boot that features a Red, White and Blue American Flag beneath "Made in USA" the boots are also stamped on the back of the heal is the stylized trademark cursive "Danner" below that standard print "Portland, Oregon" and on the line below that "Made in the USA".I like the ostentatious American built pride displayed on the boot that you can see daily if you look for it.If you weren't looking for those features you wouldn't notice the tag or the stamping though.Mine shipped straight from the Danner factory apparently, hot off the assembly line. The dates on the shipping package were matched to my order date.I fully expect this boot to last a decade plus, and hope to rotate it daily with my old Belleville's once I get them resoled.

Last duty boot that actually displays Danner quality
Bear with me...I've been wearing 8.5D - Danner Striker boots for awhile now. When I started wearing them they were great quality boots. Then they started cheapin' out...got another pair that were ok but noticeably different than what they used to be (the ones with the crappy eyelets/sole problems). Now Danner seems to have just done away with the Striker and started making Bates/Magnum 'quality' junk but still charging Danner prices. It's a shame what Danner is putting their name on these days. The reason I say this is that these Acadia style boots are the duty boots that seem to have maintained some semblance of quality. They tend to run narrow and the sizing is nothing like the Strikers. I went tried several sizes down to a 6.5EE, but sent them all back and decided to stick with the Strikers (my feet just don't accomodate them well). Also, based on others that have them, the bigger sizes you get into the less discrepancy there is. If you can figure out your size, then these are great boots. They are constructed well using quality materials. Outside of Amazon, they will run close to $300 (referring to the Acadia, not the more expensive Recon)...even though they are great boots, the price has skyrocketed and gotten a little ridiculous over the years.

Worth the price
Excellent boots, I was sick of buying duty boots with side zippers that split every 6 months. These bad boys are high quality very nice leather and will keep your feet warm and dry in snow and rain. They are extremely comfortable to stand in all day and look very professional shined up. It's nice to see a product with an American flag on it these days. I was hesitant on dropping the $$$ but I know I'll have them for years. Order larger in width I wear regular boots and got the EE and it's a good fit. These boots will get you laid.

Tread sucks unless the new ones have changed.
It’s been 1.5 years since I bought mine.Stitching and leather are good quality, still look fine. Not impressed with how quickly the soles wear out, and in an uneven pattern; I constantly have discomfort where a tread didn’t wear out and it starts putting pressure. Constantly have to file down to try to keep it even. In doing so, the tread has been worn down to being almost bald. They need a different tread pattern.Of course there’s only a year warranty so now I’llHave to send out to get refinished.

Best in the industry
I will start by saying that these boots are great! I ordered them a size larger based on some reviews and they were slightly large but not enough to return them, I'd recommend going and trying them on at a retailer first if you can. I work in law enforcement and have had many various brands of boots but these (which I use in the winter in nebraska) and another pair of Danners (which is use in the summer) that I own are the most comfortable and highest quality out of all of them. These boots are very warm with the Gore-Tex lining and keep my feel warm and dry in the coldest and wettest conditions. Straight out of the box I couldn't believe how comfortable they were and they only got better the more broke in they got. The leather is high quality, just take care of it with Danner boot care products or other similar ones and it will last a long time. The only gripe I have is that the laces are pretty bad, you could try to buy better ones or just use some paracord.
