Perfection!

Twenty-five years ago as a defense contractor, I was stationed to Southwest Asia in the middle of the desert with other Americans. I was issued my kit and Danner boots was part of it. Since those days I have purchased and worn a plethora of different brand name boots. A few satisfied and a few that weren't. I travel around the world working with different militaries. These Danner boots are light, breathable, comfortable, and still have a lot of support, and toughness. I recently had ankle replacement surgery and was looking to accommodate my current leg/ ankle situation. I am 100% happy w/ the feel and will probably always go w/ Danner boots.

Superb cushion and traction

The cushioning is fantastic, did not expect that. Grips excellent on any terrain, even without a heel it doesn't slip. Im 61, worn everything, still hike with 40# weight vest, these are 5 star because they are more comfortable than my Zephyrs that I've worn for years. They look nice too. I don't care for all danner boots, styles, but the comfort and cushion is superb. The 4.5 height is nice too, it feels very stable on my foot, the Lacing was Very Well thought out. Excellent job designer's.

Good boots

Danner is good gear. Period. Been wearing them since being an 11B in an airborne unit to finishing a 40 yr career in LE. With that this is the first pair I’ve sent back. The boots are light weight, comfortable and appear to have the Danner quality I enjoy. a few years I got wiped out at work. Result was significant surgery & rehab on & in the area of my right ankle.I tried the boots out a home. Sadly the right boot collar rubbed on my prior injury. I tried reconfiguring the way the laces were done but nothing seemed to help. Perhaps a wide instead of a regular might have worked...don’t know.So end result: Appear to be well made. Lightweight. Good looking boots. Fit is normal; wear a 10 order the 10. Danner reputation for quality. Didn’t work for me but there are mitigating circumstancesFinal thoughts:I will be trying a wide. I hope they’ll fit....

Quality

These are quality boots. It's what I expect from Dinner. I have been wearing Danner boots for 35 years. The vibrom sole is holding up very well as I walk my dog 2-3 miles per day. The concrete sidewalks burn up softer soles quickly. After a couple of months, the soles show almost no wear at all. I swear by Dinner and would recommend them to anyone.8 months update... (I don’t know why Dinner keeps coming up instead of Danner...autocorrect), I wear these boots daily. I crushed my ankle a couple years back in an auto accident and need the ankle support. These boot are delivering. I agree with others regarding the difficulty lacing up and removing, but I’m used to it and it doesn’t bother me. I had zipper sides previously and I loved that aspect but the boot wore out in three month! The Vibram sole is holding up well. Sign of wear exist, but I walk the dog 2-3 miles daily on concrete so anyone would expect some wear. There haven’t been any breakdowns. The lacing is better than I expected. Usually I replace them with paracord immediately, but so far the lacing is holding up. I will replace them with paracord in the near future. I’m most upset with Danners price increase. If the price drops, I will probably get another pair. Danner is the only company that has got my repeat purchases. Like I said in my previous review, I have been wearing Danners since 1984. I still have my first pair of Acadias.Update: I have wearing these boots every day for a year now. They show some wear on the sole and heel, but nothing you wouldn’t expect after a year. The boots are comfortable like and old gym shoe. I would gladly reorder them except for the major increase in price. I do not feel that $150 for this boot is excessive. That is my only complaint. A year ago I paid $118.

Hot and fit small

At first these were a little tight in the toe box, I considered having them stretched. A good cobble told me to give them a week to break in. Now, they are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn!!Unbelievable, light walking on cushion all the time. I sell the same type of TPE that the soles are molded from. There is a difference in rebound for different soles. I tried some "Ferrel" hiking boots and "Kreen" both had no bounce and were dead feeling. Too bad manufactures only looked at cheaper TPE soles and not the quality of materials. These are a little hot which is disappointing. I do not buy waterproof to get the better breathability. Please buy these shoes. Worth the price. I now wear them for all of my travel. They look great with kakis or my 5.11 Stryker pants. And, I wear a size 15. So, I am limited to 3-4 brands of hiking boots. Danner for now on!

Great boots!

I bought these boots 3 years ago. I wear them for hiking and for working in the yard and in a marina. I decided to write this review because I like them so much. They lasted well and are so comfortable it’s like wearing slippers. The way they lace up allows me to wear them unlaced Naomi can step out of them and back into them easily. Unlaced, they still give good support and comfort while walking and carrying. They have held up well too, well made and durable. You won’t be sorry to have gotten these!
