Love my Danner boots, always light and comfortable.
I purchased these for a coworker and have never seen him happier to place these on his feet. As soon as his feet touched the inner souls you could see the energy emanate from ever part of his being. His feet began to move in stride almost as if he had no control of his movement. He immediately exclaimed that he could run faster! He began to sprint uncontrollably with endless amounts of energy. Everyone that saw him through the day noticed the change, the swiftness of each step and the incredible bounce in every step he took. The following day he came into work exhausted so I asked him if he had a rough night sleeping. He then explained that he is not use to the constant running and had been sprinting around his pond all night long. I am worried about the future of the Danner company. They make a fantastic product that is built to last but he is already aware that he will wear the tread of his boots all of the way through in less than the 3 month warranty. I foresee him needing new boots on a biweekly basis and can only hope for the sake of Danner that they have a limit of replacement boots or that the warranty does not start over with the replacements. When children question how Santa is able to deliver gifts to everyone in the world in one night I can confidently respond that the black boots Santa has always been know to wear are none other than the Danner Scorch side zip.In final, can someone please let Jimmy Johns know that my coworker is content with his job but appreciates the countless offers of employment. We realize that he has harnessed the freaky fast speed they pride themselves in possessing but he is ours.
Boots feel and fit great right out of the box. No problems with durability, weight, style, and comfort.
These boots get the job done So far. They advertise an almost zero break in period and in about a day they were solid. I’ve had them for 2 weeks now and I do like them. The zipper makes life easier. Today I finally got a chance to try the water proofing. While working in the rain, the drains wouldn’t take anymore water and a flooded lot was the outcome. Forgot that the part I was at had a very large hill and a nice valley to it that filled with 3-5 inches of water at just the part I was in. When I got out of the small lake my feet had that familiar wet feeling and I was a little nervous. When I got inside I took my boots off and atlas! Dry socks. The insole was dry but the upper toe area felt damp. As I was leaving I had to trudge through more of the same lake and there’s video of it. I never went higher than the bottom laces. When I got home. Same dry socks but my toes had dampness on the top side and the inside of the boot at the upper toe part was even more damp. They prevented a wet foot. But not so sure that they’d last much longer in those conditions. I’d expect a little more from this price point. With that said. I’m trying these in replace of my $40 Walmart Interceptor Men's Canton Waterproof Work Boots, Slip Resistant. These you have to tie, not a huge deal and replace the laces fairly quick. But after that. They last for about 15 months. For $40 a yearly boot purchase that fits great and performs well? Yeah. That’s worth it.I’m going to be very disappointed if I wasted $140 on these boots if the don’t last about 3.5 years or so. I bought them after a friend was raving about them. We’ll see!Edit: 2 years 4 months. That’s when the boots lost their ability to stay water proof. At the 2 year mark the right boots zipper broke. The price point is too high for a boot that can’t beat a Walmart special of $40
Really comfy
This will be the second time I've purchased these boots; the first pair lasted over 10 years. I'm a paramedic based in a hospital. These boots are good for long shifts on your feet working in the department or 12 hours on the ambulance. The only downfall is that the insoles aren't quite as they should be, but I've replaced them with some decent aftermarket insoles, and I'm good to go.
These are probably great boots but they are unfortunately not for me. they are very heavy. I work in the post office and have to walk upwards of 15 miles a day. I need a lightweight boot and am going after another Danner brand. They did feel snug when i tried them on for the first time and I was afraid I would really need to break them in to get them to fit right. I did not want to take the chance of destroying my feet hoping these boots would eventually work out.
