Great boots.
These boots are one of the most comfortable and light weight pairs I have ever owned. A little backstory about my boot experience: a little while back I started having issues with my right foot, and the doctor told me to buy new boots. I went through trying about 15 different pairs of boots from Red Wings, to Timberlands, to Wolverines and Chippewa. I even tried a different pair of Danners and each pair killed my feet in one way or another. The first day I wore these boots I knew they were going to work out. I can't say how well they hold up over time, but I got these for around $90, which was less than half of most of the other pairs I tried. Excellent boots, they are super comfortable and they fit true to size in comparison with my Nike and Jordan sneakers. I bought them wide because my work socks are thick: they ended up fitting perfectly. Buy these boots if you're having trouble finding a pair you like. The only other boot I'll recommend is the Wolverine Marauder, insulated, with a soft toe. Those are the only other boots that felt this great on my feet.

Comfort is key, looks good too
everyone said to buy a 1/2 size bigger, i did and now i just lace them up extra tight. these boots are comfortable, 20% cheaper than my local boot barn and non steel toe. i broke (shattered) both my legs (tib & fib) in a motorcyle accident and am extremly picky when it comes to comfort. I tried on 30 pairs of boot from 10 different brands. I work for a living, like actually work, outdoors for 8-10 hours at a time. These boots are a lifesaver and i would be willing to buy a pair every 3 months if need be. Im 3 months in and they look like new, i wash them on weekends with boot care products. 10 stars put of 5

slow shipping
Great boots if you actually get them. 2nd time around, they no show on several expected delivery dates. Best wishes if you need them on time, like most working men do. I'd give them a 4. But can't now with the lack of even getting them.

An okay workboot.
This is a 6 month workboot......... meaning you will get about 6 months out of these things. The Gore-Tex in mine didn't work at all and the first time I stepped in a puddle my feet were drenched. The left boot soaked up water in no time and the right boot was a small leaker. These are more comfortable than the Quarry which is the reason I bought these to begin with but the Pronghorns are more comfortable.Danner is guilty of making boots that are too narrow. With other brands I wear a size 9.5D but I had to order a size 10EE in order to get a perfect fit. The size fits the same as the Quarry or the Pronghorn. So if you know your size for those then the Vicious will likely be the same. If you are new to Danner boots, go to the store and try them on for size. The main reason I'm giving these 4 stars is because my feet never got too cold during the Winter but these would not be a good summer boot. Also, the Direct Attach sole doesn't wear funny like the Vibram sole does. I think these are okay for walking on concrete.

Best boots for my aching feet
I have plantar fascitis along with some heel pain. I have tried on many different pairs of work boots and so far these are the best ones for my tender feet. After about 3-4 months I need to replace the insole to prevent foot pain from coming back, but I have had to do that with any shoes I have bought the last few years. They are well made and seem to be lasting pretty well. I got my first pair from a shoe store and not long after that saw Amazon had them on sale for about $40 less than I got my first pair for, so I ordered another, as the only other shoes I have owned as good for my feet were over $300 a pair (these were $240 at the shoe store, $200 on sale at Amazon. In addition to having the proper shape and cushion for my feet, the tongue is made in such a way that it does not wrinkle and create a pressure point at the top of the arch of my foot. If you have ever worn work boots where you have to re position the tongue a couple times to get it to 'feel' right, you will know what I mean. They say they are waterproof, but I never tested them in more than an inch or two, but the leather is quite slick, and dirt/mud doesn't stick to them as much as they did my old shoes.5 stars for reducing the pain in my feet.

So far they are great. I've only had them for two months
First pair of Danners for me, So far they are great. I've only had them for two months, but they are probably the best work boots I have ever had. I was nervous because of the other neg reviews, Time will tell. I'm outside on my feet 12 hours a day. They are very, very comfortable. no break in time needed at all and you can't go wrong with the Vibram. I hope they hold up but for now I'm very pleased. With all boots you get what you pay for, and I think they are good price for what you get.

Mediocre boots
Really comfortable boot first off, I had some CAT boots that had the comfort of a brick. Leather is definitely lower quality then other boots at this price range and especially when you consider Danner own lineup. On the first day I brought this to work, I knee down a alot and the leather by the end of the day it had multiple cuts. I also had some Danner quarry that got a chip in the leather first day as well. Returned those asap, only keeping this because it's comfortable and lightweight. Waterproofing is fine, keeps your feet dry as intended. The sole is ok as well, always heard vibram soles were the gold standard. Pretty disappointing the traction/grip is worse then the 100 dollar CAT boots I had. Even driving is a pain, my boot is constantly slipping off the clutch pedal and gas. Only one pro and the rest negative, Danner missed the mark on this one. Comfortable boot thought.Update: after half a yearof ownership the boots, have started to let water in. The mesh part of the boot soaks up and holds a bunch of water against the liner cause it to soak through. The leather also soaks up water even though I condition them once a month, which also lets water in past the goretex liner.
