They changed the boot design

I've worn Danner Pronghorn boots for 25 years. I've owned six pairs. I ordered this pair in August to replace the last pair that I've worn since the winter of 2019. I've always worn size 12 EE. These boots are not the same boots, and the sizing is extremely off. They are near a half inch shorter, and a half inch more narrow in the toe box. Returned.

Just get them

I don't usually post reviews, but the guys are Danner have earned it. I got these to hike and ruck in dry and wet/muddy conditions. We do 1 or 2 mile hikes with 125-155lbs. This means up to 340 lbs on the boots for at least an hour. I had used other boots that fell apart within two months of doing this. I've been using these for months and they do not show any signs of fatigue. Tough boots and totally waterproof. At least in heavy rain and across streams. What really sets them apart is how plush the are. Other hiking boots are rock hard. These are more comfortable than my running shoes. In fact, I like them so much I use them as everyday shoes. They are plush yet take on the rocks and gravel like it is nothing. Awesome ankle support even carrying ridiculous rucking weights. The traction is obviously critical for rucking. One misstep with that weight and it is a high likelihood of injury. These boots have a lot of grip. Some might say they are expensive, but I disagree. When you think about it, they are around the same price as of good running shoes and you get so much more out of them. An actual leather shoe that is far more durable than a running shoe of similar price. If you are tired of rock hard soles of traditional hiking boots, the durability and lack of impermeability of running shoes, and want to hike dry and in comfort, get these.

Tight, width wise

Awfully tight, my older Pronghorns were not so tight as I recall. Have stretchers on the way, we'll try to make them fit. Don't make them like they used to.

Boots are well made and light. They are a little too narrow I got the 14EE I really need the 14EEEE but danner doesn't offer them that I know of. Overall I really like the boot.

Awesome boots

Great boot. Light weight, durable and comfortable. This is my third set of danners, I had two pairs of reckonings while I was in the marine corps. Never once have I been disappointed by Danner products. You won't find better for the price.

Awesome sturdy boot

Bought these boots for the 2020 hunting season and they were awesome!!! They fit well, plenty of support, no blisters, easy to break in, great overall boot. They are comfortable enough that I can wear them all day, hiking or not, and they still feel great. I condition the leather with bee's wax every three or big hiking days, and I have had 0 problems with water getting. I will definitely be using these boots as long as I can!
