Pleasantly surprised about comfort, fit, and support

I've had plantar fasciitis issues for years and was getting ready for a trip that was to involve miles of walking and some wet terrain, so I decided to give Danner a try and so glad I did. (Disclosure: leaving nothing to chance I also retrofitted the boots with Superfeet Trailblazer insoles.) The fit is as expected. I ordered the wide (W) and it was perfect for my duck feet with good space in the toe box. The boot is very stable on all kinds of terrain and the goretex keeps the wet out and it somewhat breathable. I found the internal shank to provide very good support and the unusual external heel stabilizer works surprisingly well. Also, for the fashion-conscious, the heel stabilizer is not as prominent with the boot on your foot as it looks in the product photos. During the trip, I was very pleased at night to not be in severe pain, even on the days I walked 10 or more miles. I consider that a success. Since back, I have continued to wear the boots and they have held up well. They are expensive, but if you want a high quality boot, these are worth your time and money. In fact, I was so impressed, I bought a pair of the non-goretex 2650 shoes too.

Extremely well made boots

These are very light weight. I wear them almost daily for work. I walk 3-5 miles per day for work. I have hunted in them in rough terrain. After 7 months of a lot of wear and tear they show no signs of falling apart like other shoes I have used for work and play. I like them so much I plan on ordering another pair. I have flat feet with no natural arch and these support my foot and I haven't caused any back pain. I have to be careful about what shoes I order and Danner's have been comfortable out of the box every time.

Okay - But Not as advertised.

I like the fact that the shoes are comfortable and lightweight. I was really wanting to by a shoe that was made in the USA. In fact the details on Amazon sight for this shoe says it is made in the USA. Not so. Inside the shoe the label says designed in the USA. Manufactured in Vietnam. Where is the truth in advertising?

Very comfortable

Super comfortable and look great. Only had a week but the color appears to be fading quickly. I will wait a see in the next week or so.

Very light, comfortable footbed

This is an extremely light boot. I have moderately wide feet and the double EE 10.5 fit perfectly. This is my third pair of Danners and I really like em!! Ive used vasque and keen with mixed results. Danners have always been the best fitting and longest lasting for me. If you need stiff ankle support this is not your shoe. But if you want all day comfort on hard surfaces in more of a sneaker feel. This is an extremely comfortable shoe. With great traction.!

New, but impressed so far

I just ordered these shoes online after a lot of trial and error as well as research. I've been looking for a hiking shoe that is comfortable, rugged, and can accommodate typical day use for an office environment for an indoor/outdoor ranger. Additionally, I've been looking for shoes that have a heel drop to help with plantar fasciitis. I've found other shoes on the market that have heel drops, but it's been difficult to find a pair that fit my wide feet. I found a day use shoe from Kuru that is wide and has a heel drop. they are comfortable, but are not rugged enough for hiking and their colors are limited. Kuru's rugged hiking shoe also does not come in wide. This shoe is ticking all of my boxes so far. It is very comfortable, wide enough for my feet, has good grip for hiking, is multifunctional, and did not really need to be broken in. The only thing left to find out is how long they will last and ultimately how they work in the field. I've heard mixed reviews on wear and tear. If these work out well, I will be interested in getting more Danner's in the future, perhaps their boots that go higher up on the ankle.
