I'm not sure why they changed this listing to say women's clog, but I like these shoes anyway. I work on a concrete floor, standing most of the day in a warehouse, and these have helped my feet from hurting. They still hurt sometimes, but not like they did before I got these clogs. I now wear them almost everywhere I go--to church, to town, etc.Not meant for hiking shoe, as they are not snug or laced up. Nor for any job where you need ankle support or the possibility of shoes coming off is a hazard. Also, where I live the driveways become icy in winter, and these shoes do not stick well to ice, as they have a fairly hard sole and only very shallow tread. (That is my only Gripe with them, besides telling me now, a year later, that I bought a women's shoe)Update 08/16/2013: The left shoe has developed a pop in it when I step off that foot. Not sure why, cannot find anything amiss. After I noticed this, I also noticed that other people who use these have more or less the same problem, so I decided not to worry about it. They are now a little scuffed, but I still love them!
They look sharp, are reasonably comfortable, and will last 10 years.
I used dansko for many years at the start of my culinary career. They are desirable because they have great fit and work well non slip. However the sole quality in the last 5 or so years has seemed to change dramatically. I buy a new pair of shoes every 4-5 months because the soles wear out. Tried to contact dansko and vendor and neither fixed the problem.
I bought a pair of these as a third year medical student, and wore them almost every day through the next eight years of medical training. That pair finally died, and this is my second. They are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, and a price that works out to less than twenty dollars per year, they are an incredible deal. Walking in them takes a bit of practice to avoid twisting your ankle, but once you do, it's incredible. The advice I got for fit was to buy a half size too large, at least. If you can shove your toes as far forward as they'll go without bending and fit a single finger behind your heel, you have the right size. Any tighter won't breathe as effectively. Looser will slide too much.As with any shoe, your mileage may vary, and fit is a personal thing. But if you work in a field that involves lots of standing or walking, you should give these a shot.Highly recommended.
I have worn these shoes for my entire medical career over 4 decades right up to retirement. They are quite expensive but last a long time and are high quality. My only issue with my current pair was that the right foot felt smaller and was harder to get into than the left shoe. Of course being Amazon prime, they immediately replaced them and the replacement pair fits perfectly. That is why I buy everything I can from Amazon. Basically their feeling is the customer is always right and that is why Jeff B. is the richest man in the world. Also there are "clog" fitting instructions inside the box. It says that one should be able to insert the small finger between the heel and the shoe. Also, it states that the heel should move up and down freely even if the clog is closed at the back. It reminds you the toe should not touch and to always size the larger foot. They should put these instructions in the ad. Even after wearing these exact shoes for 40 years I did not realize these facts. Unfortunately they are inside the box after you open them and not in the ad. Great shoes !
I like this shoe! I've never bought Dansko before but after my podiatrist recommended it, I can say I'm not disappointed! The shoe has good support and it's comfortable. I normally wear a woman's size 12 and had been told before that Dansko runs small so I ordered the men's size 101/2-11 or 44 euro size. It's a little big but fine when I wear socks. I have just a medium width foot and men's shoes are usually too wide but these were not so they may be tighter for a mans foot. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase!
