My Favorite Shoes
I love these danksko sneakers. I ordered a pair in gray from QVC and liked them so much I wanted another pair for just around the house. They stabilize my ankle and my knees stop making cracking noises when I put them on. I don't wear any other walking shoe. From now on, it's just these. They are very well made, fit true to size, and have good arch support. They are so special because the sole of the shoe is wider than the foot bed and that makes them feel super stable and keeps my foot from rocking inward due to the ankle rolling in. You can order a 1/2 size larger than you normally would wear and put in a custom orthotic. I ordered my normal size (7.5/8) and I had more than enough room to spare for an orthotic if I wanted one. My mom ordered her normal size (9) but she couldn't fit the orthotic comfortably. So she ordered the 9.5 and they fit perfectly with the orthotic. Great shoe. Would recommend to anyone who wants a light shoe that is well made, cushioned, stable, and comfortable.

Very comfortable. Fixed foot issue!
Edited 12/14/2023 I received these mid-September 2023 and was really excited to try them out. They were REALLY tight on my toes. After a few weeks, they the toe box area has stretched and these are very comfortable. I've been wearing them daily for 3 months now. My plantar fasciitis is gone and I'm very pleased with these shoes. Will buy again.Original review 9/2023I was given a gift card for my birthday that covered most of the cost of this shoe, so I decided to bite the bullet and buy them. I have plantar fasciitis, so been dealing with a fair amount of constant foot pain when walking in other shoes. I wear size 10 and bought 9.5-10 wides because I felt 10.5-11 would be too big. The shoes fit great, except in the toe box - they are so tight I had to clip my toenails because they're so smushed together. It's not comfortable in the toe area, but has alleviated my plantar fasciitis pain, so I've continued wearing them (this is my 6th day) hoping that they'll stretch a little. Hoping they get better, because these are expensive and not something I would typically spend so much money on.

Toe box is narrow, in case you have a bunion or orthotic
Comfort only a four because: I love Dansko and was so happy to find they'd designed a sneaker type shoe. That said, it is narrow in the toe box and this is a consideration especially if you have a bunion and/or need to use orthotics. They cut my custom orthotics to fit this shoe. But after a few weeks of wearing them I have to report that my toes hurt after a few hours of light walking from the squeeze of the narrow toe box. I love them so much though, I am considering going up a size to see if that helps. Great product, attractive and very good support.

Obviously Used
The shoe itself is good - like all Danskos it is comfortable, provides adequate arch support for plantar fasciitis recovery, and looks decent. This show, however, was obviously used. It had neither a Dansko's shoe box nor a their signature shoe paper. The bottom tread was dirty on both shoes including what appears to be a staple in the bottom of one and a grease spot on the interior edge of the left shoe. Despite this listing appearing to be from the Dansko Store, the shoes actually shipped from some marketplace. Given they were more than $50 less than im store prices, that would be fine had they been advertised as returns or gently used. They were not. They were advertised as if they were new from the store.

These shoes have been magic for my many years of nerve entrapment - BETTER THAN HOKAS
I have Baxter’s Nerve Entrapment. Anyone with this condition knows how intractable this condition can be. Surgery is a last resort and doesn’t always put you back to 100%. Over the many years now that I have had the condition, I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of shoes, devices, topical pain treatments, insoles, and every manner of gewgaw know to podiatrists. And for the longest time, Hoka Cliftons were my go-to shoe. The problem with them is that they break down so quickly because I still need to work out and do my walks to stay in shape. I would get perhaps a month of mostly comfortable usage before they would break down, and these shoes are not cheap.I decided to try some other shoes, and these were among the various brands I tried. And oh my gosh, what a difference. So let me now tell you my “secret sauce” with these shoes. When I get any new athletic shoe, I remove the insole (although these shoes have one of the best insoles for arch support already on board) and I replace it with the “SOLE Performance Thin Cork Shoe Insoles” and then I wear a padded, fitted sock like the “Balega Enduro V-Tech No Show Socks” and I can walk 3 miles again! I can stand again! Housework, which used to kill my foot, is no problem. And they hold up. In the length of time I’ve worn my two pairs of Dansko, my Hokas would already be worn out. I generally can’t get more than 4 months of wear out of Hokas and even then, my pain has returned and I’m wearing them because I have to wear something.I seldom write reviews and I am writing this one with no incentives from Dansko. They’re a great shoe manufacturer anyway, but these shoes are so well built, as you would expect. I just hope they never stop making them. They are especially worth a try if you are a Hoka wearer.
