Stylish loafers that could use wider tread
I really like these loafers—they are comfortable and stylish (I have the grey color, which I like a lot). They are also relatively easy to clean, which is good since I forgot how suede gets dirty easily. They slip on easily and fit well even on wide feet. Quality seems top notch. I just wish the tread on the soles — which is quite beefy and aggressive — extended the full width of the shoe, as it can feel almost like you are walking on a balance beam. Just be careful if you have wide feet that you don't roll your ankle with these loafers.

Learning curve: Ankle hazard
Ankle rolling hazard! You can see from the images that the tread on the bottom doesn't go all the way to the edges of the bottom of the shoes. I had to catch myself from rolling my ankles sideways on several occasions within the first hour of wearing these. Imagine strapping tennis balls to the bottoms of your shoes, it felt kind of like that, where if you weren't actively paying attention to each step, there was nothing to prevent your foot catching and twisting sideways.I usually wear bulkier work shoes for my industrial workplace, but I needed something more formal, so I decided to give these a try. Apart from the issue mentioned above, the first thing I noticed is they're lightweight and nimble. The colors are perfect for the office. Comfort was alright, nothing special. The size I ordered fit my feet as expected.

Don't Step on My Blue Suede Shoes
Since getting a pair of what we used to call penny loafers when I was a boy, I've had this sort of inexplicable fascination with that style of shoe. As a kid I remember putting a penny in each shoe for good luck. When I realized these shoes were made of suede and that one color option was blue ... well, you know. I just had to place my order for a pair of blue suede shoes! That phrase may not mean anything to young people today, but it's an allusion to the Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley hit records called ... "Blue Suede Shoes."Honestly, I truly didn't expect much. I thought if I could wear the blue suede shoes once for novelty and get a comment or two, that would be enough and kind of fun. How surprised was I when the shoes turned out to be not only vibrantly blue, but comfortable like you wouldn't believe. The blue suede is noticeable without being ostentatious and they go spectacularly with jeans.I work in a relaxed office in which business casual is the dress code virtually every day. Pairing the shoes with jeans, a blue striped collared shirt, a blue sweater vest, and a blue-tinted watch and I just might have looked like a stud. The shoes are skinny and long, not an ideal look, but they still fit my feet fine and the length probably bothers me more than anyone else. And oh the comfort, especially for this style of shoe.I was concerned that the rubber material used for the bottom might trip me up or appear cheaper than a harder traditional bottom, but both of those fears were unfounded. The bottom provides additional comfort and traction, and the look is professionally appropriate.I appreciate the choice of several other colors, as I recall black, gray, and red.I plan to get all three additional colors. I'm especially excited for the red to show up since I'm a lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker fan!But please! If I see you on the street, use care and caution as we pass. You can do anything, but don't step on my blue suede shoes!
