These have held up really well all camping season for my son and they still look new. So I'm impressed and I like the brand. We got his size and it seems to be spot on for sizing which is good because that's always hard to pin down when online ordering but this seemed true to size. Hoping he can wear next season too and then give to his siblings! Worth it for the quality and longevity
I bought for a neighbor boy that was staying with his Grandmother and he loved them. I can't say anything else cause he went home to his Mom. They did look well made.
I've purchased the same pair for several growth sizes for 2 boys... Age 4 to 8. These are good shoes WITH the following caveats:1. These are sturdy BUT eventually break down. This means I've easily gotten to the next size in them BUT you won't be handing these down to a sibling or donating. These are basically disposable boots.2. We spend time outside working, hiking, fishing, etc. They are solid boots and saved more than a few toes from firewood drops. I do waterproof them however.Good luck.
We just moved from California to PA so boots were high on our "need" list with the colder weather. My son is seven and still not able to tie his shoes well so I wanted a good hiking boot that you didn't have to tie and was comfortable. First of all, my son has a wide foot. He actually wears Stride Rite extra wides most comfortably, but regular wides work too. Because of his wide foot, I'm always nervous about buying boots. These gave him plent,y of space and his foot still feels good at the end of the day after wearing them for over twelve hours! He liked the design and style. He was also able to slip them on himself with no issues. The only problem we encountered were the cheap shoelaces. I have two different pairs and the laces broke (or ripped) on both pairs within two months. We r placed the laces and so far have had no more issues. The boots also held up well in the snow and rain. My son never complained of cold or wet feet.
My kid says they are very comfortable. We purchased other brands and returned, as they were not as wide as these boots. Kept those and we are happy with them. They definitely kept the water out during rain and when stepping in streams during hikes. Good product.
Top boot hook breaks very easily. We went on our last camping trip and planned a hike. The hook broke on the second day. My son loves the boots, they are a great fit and otherwise seem to be made well. He still used the boot as those were his only shoes but he is very sad that they are broken already. It did not rain so I cannot say if they are waterproof. My son said they were good and warm.
Our 4 year old loves to go on hikes with us. We decided he needed some actual hiking boots after a family hike while watching him trying to scramble along in his rainboots. These boots are sturdy, stay laced tight and tied, and provide adequate traction. Are they 100% waterproof? Not if he steps in a puddle or snow bank that engulfs the boot. I think that is pretty much true for most hiking boots. So baring that in mind I carry a pair of dry socks for him in my pack. I wasn't willing to pay for a more expensive boot as he's going to be growing and going through boots regularly. So overall these are sturdy hiking boots for the right price.
