Hoping to wear these, some day, when my plantar fasciitis resolves (not caused by these shoes BTW, I ordered them before the problem started). I wanted a pair of deck shoes so I was amazed to find these. I was happy 'cause the only color in my size (Mens 10) was dark blue, which is what I wanted. Gonna look great with jeans when I wear them some day. Uber-cool 'cause you know, Docs. UPDATE: Well, it's been about a year since I got these. Due to the aforementioned plantar fasciitis, I got some good insoles to put in these shoes and they feel GREAT. I can go a while without wearing them (I have a lot of Docs), pop them on and go walking all around town (I don't drive). As always, Dr. Martens' quality, and as always, be mindful that Docs run a size big, so allow for that. UPDATE PART DEUX: I discovered something new about these. I'd walked a fair distance to get somewhere, and while there I ended up waiting in line with these shoes on, took another couple more hours to do what I needed to do, and by the time I got home my feet STILL felt great. I've never worn these without the Dr Scholl's inserts (not very expensive) so they're still 100%.
These are very nice-looking shoes, but they are narrow. Dr. Marten boots and shoes are usually wide, but these are the narrowest Dr. Martens I have ever worn. They are not tight, but the soles are just narrower than other Dr. Martens. Still, I like these, but I think these would be best for people with narrow feet though.
They’re VERY comfortable like you expect Doc’s to be but, they do y last like Doc’s are supposed to. They’re made with the quality of a cheap knock off. My last pair of Doc’s I had for 20 years before tossing them. These I’ve now had for not quite 2 months (delivered Sept 14, 21 and today is 8 Dec 21) and the leather is already cracking and falling off in the creases where they bend with normal walking. It’s doing it on both sizes, too. Not just the sides shown in the picture. These are not my every occasion shoes. I wear them for about 3 hours at a shot when I wear them. So, with VERY light wear, they’re falling apart. Extremely disappointing. The second star is strictly for the comfort of them but, clearly they’re going to be garbage much sooner than later. No shoes, especially these, should be showing signs of wear so soon. Not good.
I bought these for three main reasons: The low price, I need slip-resistant shoes for work, and the several pairs of Dr. Martens shoes and boots I've owned have been of the highest quality. My initial impressions of these shoes were good. These fit pretty well, and the sizing seemed pretty normal/true. After a week or so of wearing them half a day at a time for proper break-in they were pretty comfortable. The leather seemed to be decent. The soles had very little depth to the tread, which was concerning. The slip-resistance of these shoes on the tile floors at my restaurant was rather poor, and several notches below my last pair of Keens and anything sold by SFC.After wearing these 4-6 days a week at work for 6 months, the soles are completely destroyed. They are literally split all the way across (from side to side) in multiple places on both shoes, and they are no longer wearable. The meager tread is completely worn down around on the heel and in a couple other spots, making them downright dangerous on slippery floors. I had to replace the terrible, cheap laces after only about a month. These shoes are not only a disappointment for Dr. Martens shoes, they are a complete disappointment for any shoe. Until I can decide on a replacement I'll have to wear the Keens these replaced, which were worn daily for a year and still shoe very little wear on the much more slip-resistant soles. I preferred the look of the Docs, and they were reasonably comfortable, but the Keens are superior in just about every way. I am shocked to be saying this now, but even the cheap-looking Shoes For Crews that are so common in my industry are far more durable (as well as safer) than these. Not only will I not buy another pair of Dr. Martens for work, I'm hesitant to buy another pair for casual wear, as this experiences has shown me that they can no longer be trusted. This makes me sad, because I thought this was a brand I could surely trust.
Dr marten design and fabrication is high quality. If you are used to wearing cheaper shoes then get your foot measured first. My feet are wide and I usually have to get a bigger size in cheap shoes to accommodate that. Not doc martens. The fit and craftsmanship is truly the best. Well worth the money for solid shoes that last. Buy some white leather shoe polish to keep them looking brand new. I love these shoes!
I love this shoe. First time I tried this style but I did wear DR Marten work boots when before I retired about a year ago and they were the only boot I would wear because of the comfort along with the safety and support a boot is supposed to give you. So recently I strained my right foot and the only shoe I had in the house that would ease the pain were my old work boots. So I figured I would try these Dante Brando Oxfords and boy am I glad I did. I wear them almost all the time until my foot heals. The great thing is not only are they comfortable, they Look like a shoe you could wear with just about anything from jeans to a Tux. I love them and will buy the other colors. Just to let you know Dr Marten does not deal in 1/2 sizes so if you are a half size person round up to the higher size and you should be fine. Thats what I had to do with these shoes and also the work boots I mentioned.
