Sharp and Classy!
I normally wear an 8 1/2 and read that these run a bit large. I ordered the 8 (6 UK) and they were still a smidgen too big. I purchased some inserts and that took care of the problem, though I do have some room in the toe but it doesn't affect my gait and the space is nice since my toes don't get cramped. The leather though is VERY stiff and this shoe takes some time to break in - using band-aids for the heel and working the tongue to soften it up. Just after a few wearings I can tell that they are breaking in and becoming comfortable though the heel on the right is still a bit stiff. These shoes do get noticed by people - I've had a lot of compliments on them and I do like the way they look with dress pants as well as jeans.Very well made, sturdy, comfortable once they are broken in, and stylish - but if you're a half-size definitely order down!

Adorable and well made shoes
I LOVE these shoes. They run very big so order a size down. I wear 8 1/2 in tennis shoes and shoes so men's 6 was the perfect size for my feet. I added an insert as I wear them in all my shoes. A previous reviewer said they were stiff and yes they are but like any true leather shoe the leather will relax and conform to your foot. They're very well made and high quality. I can't wait to wear them with my cute work uniforms. I'm 46 and my friends loved these shoes. I wish they made more colors like navy & cream or brown & cream.

LOVE! Use for plantar fasciitis
These are really cute! But, I got them for their soles. I have painful heels, plantar fasciitis. My doctor said I needed sturdy soles to support the pressure when I walk. He said to check my shoes by bending the sole to check their sturdiness. These soles are solid, but still a little bouncy! I use these with some 3/4, high quality heel inserts. They have really helped me heal. I now buy Doc Martens with similar soles. Be aware they are a little heavy. I don’t mind, I’m building up my leg musclesI am no longer limping around, but now look cute while in no pain. LOVE!

Excellent product
The things I like the most about the 3989 is old school look, you can wear these at work, a function, date night, out running errands. They are rigid, and the leather on should ease up once you wear and walk around in them to a couple times. I wear a 13 US and bought 12 US because of the reviews stated they run large so buy a size down. Good thing I listened.

i have been eyeing these shoes for about 2 months now, and finally i got them with my christmas money😁😁 one of my favorite purchases ever. these are absolutely beautiful & i love that they are unisex! my bf needs a pair, i know he’ll look absolutely handsome in these. i was afraid of the sizing becaise of all the reviews, i don’t know my size for female but for male i am a 6 according to my vans. so i got a 5 and miraculously they fit perfectlyyy😋 i think those who are half sizes have a bit more trouble finding the perfect size:(. these are very hard/ sturdy in a good way. these are some minor flaws (?) at least that is what they look like to me, but nothing someone can notice passing by or standing around. these do seem to be a return as well as one of the shoe obviously looks untied & tried on. besides that they are very pretty. worth the money🤍🖤 happy new years🥰

Doc Martens delivers again.
I have been buying Doc Martins for at least 10 years now. I own some pretty conservative versions, so I decided to mix it up a little by getting these 3989 Brogue Oxfords. They are essentially roaring 20s meets Doc Marten. Depending on who sees them: Over the top or just plain cool. So, beware for you introverts, they do get attention and are often conversation starters. The best of all about these shoes is that they are comfortable enough to wear all day at work (even pre break-in) and they are nice enough to head to a fancy place at night. You can wear them with a 5 piece suit, or just about anything casual. I will say one downside is they fit a tad big, so consider buying a half-size smaller than what your actual size is. I got the right size but they fit a tad big on me. Amazon had them the most reasonably priced, most other places on the net that was selling them new were 20-30 bucks more.
