Versatile boot—professional and casual!
I needed a black leather shoe with no color or visible logos for my uniform at work. My work requires me to travel a lot so I wanted a shoe that would also be my go-to daily wear for civilian clothing (and still look cute as heck). Look no further! This boot is perfect for what I needed. It looks incredibly professional with business casual/uniform and I’ve gotten lots of compliments from coworkers…but it also looks badass and so cute in my daily shorts and t shirt or goth attire! Best of both worlds!!!I am okay with how it feels with its standard insert but It doesn’t have much room to add your own or add any cushion. I got a size 8 womens and I am usually a true 8 but sometimes a 8-8.5 in boots. It’s a perfect size for normal socks and my foot slips in super easily. However it’s very very snug with thicker socks or when I tried my own insoles. Would recommend a size up if you do that.I normally wear insoles with shoes but as stated, it’s too tight to wear with these. However, I have not experienced any problems or noticeable pain with standing all day in these. I wear them almost daily and walk quite a bit.I have scuffed them up and spilt things on them but a quick wipe with a rag has them looking like new.I love Dr. Martens (own quite a few pairs) and expect these to last years. There is no stitching on the boot and the sole is a great size, not super large or bulky like their classic boots. There is a tag at the top of the boot with the Dr martens logo but it is hidden underneath any standard sized pant. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Surprisingly comfortable
I was a little wary when these arrived, as the leather is very stiff and I feared they would be uncomfortable. To my surprise, they are quite comfortable, and I've been walking around in them for several days now. They do require some breaking in -- while I didn't get blisters the first time I wore them, it did take me awhile to get used to the stiffness. There is also a slight narrowing at the toe, which felt a little tight at first because of the rigidity of the leather. Although the usual recommendation is to size up on a boot, I had read in other reviews to stick with my true size (7.5 or 8), because these are too large if you go up. I definitely agree with that assessment, since a larger size would've been much too roomy -- right now there's plenty of room for me to wear a thick sock and not have squished feet. I also like the arch support on these. I do a lot of walking every day, and unlike the hard heel of my old boots, these have a nice cushion that absorbs the impact of hard surfaces. My feet and back are not tired or hurting after a full day of wearing these! Plus, they look sleek too.

Love The Look but Requires Breaking In
Really nice (but stiff) leather. Love the structured rough but delicate look of the boots. A versatile piece that should go with most clothing. The insoles are a little softer than expected but can be softer IMO (for context, I usually wear sneakers and Cole Haan for comfort). Will have to break them in as expected as they are made of hard leather. I usually wear size 6. Tried size 5 and were a little too snug and size 6 were a bit too roomy with some heel lift (feels like 6.5). Will keep size 6 to wear with winter/thicker socks. I'm 5'0, 113#. Shaft opening is not too big (I have thinner/normal calves) and the height is fine.

Good, solid boot for durable and everyday wear
I bought these with the expectation that they would be like a Chelsea boot and that they would have enough width and support to be comfortable to stand in all day. They are a nice and comfortable boot, and stylish. I go to school in Maine and I find that the bean boots are too chunky for everyday wear, but that these are a nice substitute. The price point is a good one for me because I don’t want to pay for something that isn’t built to last. I did need to put my supports in because I have flat feet and some bunions but I found there was enough room for my supports and some boot socks without being too tight or feeling too clunky. Also they are not a heavy boot and that was one of my main concerns when buying them. I would buy them again, they have quality construction and good room and I like the look of the boot.
