True to size, so adjustable for different shaped feet, cute! Walked 3 miles just now, very comfy!
A lot of reviews said they were too big and I get that. If you like your sandals very fitting with your toes at the edge, then yes, order a bit smaller than your size. I am a size 8 1/2-9 and ordered 9's. They would have been a bit big if I hadn't adjusted the straps but my feet are relatively slender. Size 8 would probably fit too, but I prefer having extra space, not worrying about running into things and hurting my toes.They are sturdy, definitely genuine Doc Martens. I am wearing them now in the cold rainy winter, that's how much I like them! The adjustable straps make them perfect for bare feet or thick socks. Also, I really love how I can accommodate my slightly smaller right foot (1/4 size smaller) with the different strap settings.The zipper is indeed a bit stiff, but one reviewer said they put oil on them and said that worked beautifully, so I might do that eventually.It says they are charcoal but they look black to me (the type of leather is not as deep black as other leathers perhaps), which is good because I didn't want grey shoes.

Sickening
The design is sick - love the platform, gladiator-style zip-up look. I have tiny ankles and need a larger sandal to balance me out. They broke in after 3 wears, and are comfortable. The color is an odd one though - it's like a stone color with a very slightly mint tone. I think i like it better than white, because it's less bright and blends in better with most of my clothes. I got them on sale, and I think it was a good deal for Docs.

Footbed is comfy. Zipper is a little hard to pull on one shoe but wasn’t on the other. Zipper pull clangs against zipper when walking. Heel hung off the back a little but plenty of extra room at the toe. Fit my ankles great but some of the stitching on one shoe was rubbing on the ankle’s top strap. Returning.
