Is comfortable and does well for anti-slipping.
After five days of constant wear, the shoe is extremely comfortable with practically no break in period needed. The pebbled leather allows much less stiffness in forming the shoe to your stride. The fit is spot on, and very roomy. I first wore a thinner than normal sock to get a better feel of pressure and pinch points. There are none so far - a nice surprise. There is plenty of room for my normal, padded work sock. The under sole is a cushion of shock absorbent material, and the sole seems to be a tough and scuff resistant material seen in many work shoes. The tread is not particularly deep, so how the sole wears will be critical to the life of the shoes, and the weather conditions you can use them in. The foot bed inside the shoe is nicely padded, but there's not a full-length gel insole, only a small heel cup of gel, but this adds to the comfort and spring of the shoe. I'll know in a month if I really miss my usual full-length work insole from the good doctor. A minor but constant criticism with these and many work shoes are the sub-standard laces provided. We deserve a better lace, manufacturers! These may last four months. I'll update the review later in the year. In short - a very good and comfortable work shoe with many fine points. Highly recommended to try.
My husband works very long shifts and is required to stand on his feet the entire time on concrete floors. He developed turf toe which is very painful. It was probably due to wearing a tennis shoe style work shoe with too much give in the toe plate. He was off work recovering and when ready to return to work we hunted to find the most comfortable work shoes out there given his needs. We made many trips to various shoe stores and he tried on just about every style and brand available before settling on these. They have a very comfortable gel sole built in. That is difficult to find in a shoe that is skid proof and oil resistant. He needed something that wouldn't allow his big toe too much flex while still giving him as much cushion as possible for the rest of his foot. These fit the bill. After purchasing these shoes at a local store we came home and found them on Amazon.com for $10 less. We ordered them and returned the others. We weren't sure how well they would hold up. They've done surprisingly well. He has been wearing them for six months. He said that one area of stitching gave way from the sole so he glued it (months ago) and hasn't had any additional problems. That could have been a defect. He works in an area where the floor is covered in oil. It typically eats the soles of the shoes away within two to three months. These have held up very well even with him working seven days a week.If you are looking for a fairly stiff shoe that provides gel sole relief and a no skid bottom I highly recommend you giving these a try. Please note that they run a bit large. Although he typically wears a 10.5 standard width shoe my hubby had to purchase these in a size 10. You might want to order your regular size and a half size down to compare.
I climb on roofs, through attics, crawlspaces and all areas in between in all weather. These water proof slip resistant shoes are great for my work. Ive tried a variety of shoes and these are perfect for the variety of surfaces and conditions I confront everyday. Comfortable, breathable enough my feet don't rot after long days back to back. I beat the heck out of these, turn around and buy them again. On my third pair. The only place I have trouble with these shoes is the slip resistant layer of rubber comes unglued from the cushioned sole at the toe and heal, but I have used shoe glue to hold them together until I wear out the rest of the shoe. I think some of this wear and tear comes primarily from crawling around on roofs and through gravel crawlspaces, if I stayed on my feet all day I doubt this would be an issue. Overall, damn good shoe, thanks Dr. Scholl's.
I love this shoe model. Finally needing replacement. Great work shoe. Non-slip is virtually that. FIRM yet flexible structure, protects and supports foot.Alas, It was Ladies' size and this order, did not fit
I had these shoes for 6 weeks before they started falling apart. Dr Scholl's return policy is garbage, you send them your shoes and IF they decide they are bad and IF they believe it is due to subpar manufacturing, THEN they will only refund your money, not your shipping costs to send your subpar shoes to them.Good: Pretty comfortable.Bad: Sizing is incredibly inconsistent. I bought a brown pair and black pair in the same size. Brown pair is very nice, but black is way too small.Bad: Stitching is unraveling. Seriously. I have never heard of that happening before but it is happening on mine.Bad: Sole is delaminating. If only we lived in a time when glue technology was at a place where rubber could be glued together and be able to maintain that bond. Oh wait...My recommendation is that you find another brand of shoes. I have a 50% failure rate and I can guarantee I won't be buying another pair of Dr Scholl's shoes.
Heavy duty. I'm a security officer and walk a lot around the facility where I work. It holds up well and is mostly waterproof, unless I walk through a deep puddle. They are comfortable and polishable. These are so good this is about my 5th pair over 14 years, and I suggest them to my co-workers.
