These are the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn and are suitable to be worn with and without socks. The Velcro fasteners are convenient but can collect fluff. The only negative is that they make your feet look enormous but for indoor, home use they are perfect.
I bought these for my 79 year old husband. He thinks they are really comfortable. He thinks they are real leather not simulated leather, that is how comfortable. Plenty of room in the toes where he has psoriasis which has distorted his toenails.
I enjoy wearing these shoes, they are very comfortable.. They compliment my wardrobe, providing me with good casual shoes.
We have been looking for sandals for my husband for over a year now. The Dr. Scholl's Gaston sandals are the BEST.After receiving the first pair we went ahead and ordered 4 more pair. His feet are hard to fit. These fit Perfectly. Nice cushioned sole and great arch for support. We would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a sandal like these. We live in Arizona so we wear sandals ALOT.

I initially ordered a size 12 per Amazon's recommended size message. For these sandals, I advise to ignore it and go down one size. I usually wear 11.5 or 11.5 wide (US standard) for sneakers or dress shoes so 12 was too loose at the back. These sandals at size 11 hit it just right with or without socks.
These sandals resemble Doc Martens I told my husband. He laughed a lot. Now he is enjoying wearing his in a size 12, black. This review is for my newest most favored walking shoe this Doc Scholls in size 8, brown. Perfect for my wide feet. I doubt we are the only husband and wife wearing the same style shoes!
