Very cute and comfy
Wow...glad I didn’t read all the negative reviews first!!I returned a $300.00 pair of Tory Burch sandal/clogs because the leather cut into the tops of my feet, they were too wide and clunky/heavy on my feet!I saw these Dr. Scholls and ordered. Oh my gosh! Soooo comfortable!! Ok, so not like the original wooden ones, but I think they are better!! Sooooo comfortable and lightweight! They are not hard plastic, but also, they aren’t bendable. They feel cushiony too!!! So comfortable!!! Not clunky, not loud when you walk!! True to size and not wide!! Love them!!! And, they are a great price!! I know I will be wearing these a lot this summer! Make my legs look nice too. That’s always a plus!! I just ordered 3 more pairs! Love the tan color too! And still, 4 pairs are less expensive than one pair of Tory Burch, that kill my feet!!
I wore these on vacation and got blisters on both sides of the MTP joint of my feet (big toe side of the foot) that I had to wear water-proof Band-Aids to get through the last half of our trip (which stinks being beach/sand) bc of the skin falling off. I used to love these sandals from the 90s, as I owned a pair when I was 17 and now I'm in my early 40s and thought it'd be so fun to relive the memories. I liked that the cost is more affordable than the other version Dr.Scholls sells. I am too fearful to wear them again. They are cushiony and lovely, I guess I caution you to wear a bandaid if it even starts to blister. I also tried sliding my foot farther forward as I walked once I got the blisters, and it helped somewhat. But I was out at lunch and shops and didn't have bandaids or a backup pair of shoes.
Great value considering the real wood is more money. The weight of the shoe is not heavy which is good but the size is big, I got a 9 should have gotten a 8.5
The material the shoe is made of depends on the style of the shoe. The leather ones with the metal buckles are the White, Tan and Elegant Navy. The buckle lifts up to unlock it so you can adjust the width. The shoes that are made of faux leather are the Black, Coral and Gardenia cutouts. The White/Navy, Silver and the Silver/Taupe are a shiny made made material and they just like the cutout colors have a sliding buckle to change the width.Unfortunately for me, the leather ones will fit a wider foot. I wear a 7 1/2 B(M) and have a slightly narrow foot and I could not wear this style. And tightening the strap wouldn't work because then it was so small that I couldn't even get my foot under the strap. This is not a problem with the other pairs that I bought.I bought 3 pairs of these shoes and my absolute favorites are the White/Navy and the Coral cutout. They are so comfortable and the Coral one really looks classy. And even though the White/Navy doesn't go with as many outfits; it is a great price and they are so cute. Both of these shoes have a very cushy, comfortable and supportive footbed. My least favorite pair that I bought is the Silver/Taupe (a pretty bone khaki color) because underneath the strap is a blue jean colored fabric that does not have much give in it. I can't wear these shoes for long periods. They also do not have the same footbed as the other 2 pairs and the shoes are heavierI have a bad back and can't wear shoes normally over 1" but because the platform on these is 3/4" then the 1 1/2" heel only feels like 3/4".And I am so glad I am able to wear pretty shoes again that makes my back feel better.
I decided to go ahead and do the nostalgic thing and get a pair of my favorite sandals when I was a kid. I know Dr Scholl's has made various changes to the iconic sandal, like a man made footbed instead of wood; that's okay, save a tree, right? But, in my opinion, the price went up and the quality is down a bit. The "buckle" for adjustment is fake and plastic, the toe straps are velcro adjusted. The strap seems too narrow now and feels insecure. The footbed, however, is very comfy and kind of spongy, I guess? I'm sorry, but I've had knock-offs that seemed sturdier for the price.
After breaking my foot, again in the same area, my Orthopedist ordered me to wear a carbon insert in my shoe and stiff slippers or sandals, rather than my usual sports recovery slippers that he said are too soft and flexible. He had recommended a different, more expensive, brand, but I remembered my old “pals” from my college days. As part of the ballet troupe, our Director required us to wear the Dr. Scholl’s then wooden sole clogs during some rehearsals because she could tell when we were out of synch. 🤣 But, they were so comfortable and made our feet strong. So, I ordered these, now with a synthetic “wood” sole. I have ridiculously high arches and need more support than these provide; otherwise, I am strengthening my foot wearing them and my Orthopedist would be pleased. I took this photo while wearing my boot socks when outdoor temps were in the teens; had just recently received the clogs.Pros: sturdy, stiff foot support; fits as expected; non-slip soleCons: somewhat slippery upper; little arch support
