Lives up to the Dr. Scholl's Name
I bought these shoes in early June 2024. Th purpose was to have comfortable but cute shoes to wear on a cruise. I started wearing them early to "break them in." It really was not necessary. These shoes were comfortable on day one. The sole has great cushion and a spring to it that makes everyday walking comfortable. Your feet feel very secure, having well made, expandable straps across the top, as well as a zipper behind. The real test was the cruise, and Mother Nature was in on this one. It was a stormy cruise, so many times, I felt the ship's movement, and the deck was almost always wet. At no point did I even feel like I was losing my balance. When we got off the ship, it rained. At some points, while crossing streets, my feet were submerged in water, but the straps held. I loved how the back of the shoe held my heel in, even while my feet were underwater. I expected to come home and possibly toss out the shoes that had been ruined by all of the walking through puddles. It did not happen; these shoes feel as secure as day one. The platforms are just right for me, although they do have flat ones if you desire those. The straps do not adjust but are clearly constructed in a way that they accommodate average to wide feet, I think. Now, they are not 6 inch stilettos, so if you like shoes that will get you into the MET Gala, these are not it. If you want to actually walk or work and be comfortable, too, I highly recommend this cute and comfortable shoe. In fact, I am ordering the brown pair.
