Very comfortable work shoes. Durable and fit great. Not slip resistant. I about broke my leg cleaning the showers. The toe is nice to have and I love the look and style. Great value for your money just not slip resistant.
Very clean looking. Can’t even tell they are Steele toe sneakers. Grip is great on them. They don’t weigh your feet down like boots. Very good padding in them. They are true to size as well. No tightness even with a wider foot. They are holding up very good.
Really comfortable shoes to wear and walk around in, on top of the steel toe safety aspect. Definitely feel the above average weight of this sneaker from the steel.At the time of purchase and review, the listing didn't include any significant reference to the insoles provided inside the shoe, so that could be changed over time but see attached photo of well designed advanced and contoured and comfortable multiple-area support insoles. Arch support and various areas of enhanced support/padding all feel like they are in the proper location without putting wierd pressure points on your foot.I didn't like the bright yellow high-contrast logo design on the Black shoes, so ordered the Gray version and they turned out great, looking effectively all black. The contrast of black to gray mesh in the listing photos is not as noticeable in the delivered product, so black with black mesh and more subtle grey logo.
I bought these DRKA steel-toe shoes because lugging around my bulky steel toes for occasional site visits was becoming a pain—especially when flying with just a carry-on. These looked like a decent middle ground, and in many ways, they are.Out of the box, they look like sneakers, not safety gear—which I appreciate. The toe protection is solid, and the grip is reliable across gravel, tile, and concrete. What surprised me most was how soft they felt underfoot. The gel pads in the insoles actually do their job, and once you break them in (give it a day or two), they’re easy to wear for long stretches.But—and this is important—they’re not construction boots. The breathable upper is great for airflow, but any moisture or drizzle goes straight through. After a warm day on-site, my socks were damp and my feet were definitely ready for a breather. Also, the insoles feel a little odd at first—almost like there’s a lump under the arch—but that disappears once you’ve walked a bit.Sizing runs slightly big (probably to keep your toes safe from rubbing against the steel), so consider going a half size down if you’re between sizes.In short: If you’re a desk jockey like me who occasionally needs to check in on a job site, these are a smart, affordable alternative to full-size boots. Just don’t expect them to survive daily abuse. They’re light, safe, and easy to pack—but not built for mud, rain, or months on scaffolding.
Ordered my usual size and fit as expected with very minimal breakin. Takes some getting used to the heavier and thicker toe area but if you are used to boots it will be familiar. Doesn't feel particularly heavy for what it is but not light. Lighter than even my kevlar toe boots but still obviously heavier than non steel tennis shoes. Insole is what I might call aggressive but I am used to some pretty minimal support in cowboy boots most of the time. I was dubious on the anti static claim but they do seem to mitigate static even in my composite floor office with insane static buildup. Didn't prevent the static buildup (seemingly nothing does) but mitigated it for sure. Not the biggest fan of tennis shoes overall but wanted something I could wear in the shop in the harsh summer months where cheap slip ons are too weak but boots are too hot so it works well for that purpose. I can kick boards into place and lever stuff on my toe without worry.
These steel toe shoes have been a good replacement for my husband’s heart composure toe winter boots. They are breathable and let air through. But they are also very heavy. Sizing was right on his normal size and he said they were comfortable enough. After a break-in period of a few days, he didn’t have any complaints. However, he got hit in the foot and said that the steel part of the tow shifted counter-clockwise inside the shoe so not the steel is rubbing against his pinky toe really badly. I’m not sure if they’re just one time shoes or if we got a defective shoe, but they were great for a couple of months and they saved his foot the one time which is important.
