Quality Improved Recently (Oct 2025), Really Nice Shoes Again
The quality of these really improved recently. I just bought 2 pairs of the brown model in size 15 in October and November 2025. They are finally back in every way to the very-good-quality shoes that I first started buying nearly 7 years ago.I had started buying these slip-ons from Dunham nearly 7 years ago immediately following a spinal injury. I can't bend down to tie my shoes anymore or even to adjust velcro, so I needed slip-ons.And years after I healed enough from multiple spinal surgerues to return to work full-time, I still need the slip-on style and also combined with soles that are anti-slip and that are designed for standing comfortably thru 8-10-hour shifts. (I work in a pharmacy and have to stand all day.)These shoes now have all of that comfort back. And I am so relieved.They used to as well 7 years ago when I first started buying this model.But then between 2021 and 2023, the 3/3 black pairs I ordered over those years had defects in the soles of some of them, and in the stitching, and in the ankle padding. And the leather had gotten cheaper and cracked easier.BUT: The 2 newest pairs I just ordered in Oct and Nov 2025 are fully back to high-quality and comfort in every way. I'm so relieved, because I'd never been able to find any suitable alternative shoe models that worked for my circumstances (spinal injury, can't bend down to tie shoes anymore, and have to stand up 8-10 hours at work each day).

Dunham, like New Balance have great stability.
New Balance sneakers have been my choice and my Podiatrists recommendation. Certain NB sneakers have excellent stability attributes and these Dunham shoes have the same RollBar technology. My main issue, is that I need a wide width to accommodate my foot and custom orthotic inserts. However, when i bought these in the same size as my NB sneakers, they were too big, so I returned and ordered the smaller (11.5) size and the same 2E width. These worked out great, as without shoe laces, the bigger size felt loose. However, all that said, I bought a pair of Dunham with laces, which I needed in size 12/2E to feel right. Unfortunately, Dunham are not sold nationwide in stores (Dunham are you listening) so going in trying these on was next to impossible - even in NYC where NB lists lots of stores - but none of them carry the Dunham shoes - even their own company owned store don't sell Dunham shoes. A pity since Dunham's are very good, less expensive than ECCO and come in widths to accommodate different foot dimensions.

Plenty wide but opening too short.
Way too small (height) in the opening between the tongue and midsole - I couldn’t even get my foot halfway in! I think the width would be plenty if my toes could make it to the toe box. The opening was significantly smaller than new balance and brooks shoes I own in 4e. Not sure what they were thinking here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
