I live on 10 acres in northwest Washington state, so when it comes to footwear, I tend to choose rugged outdoor shoes—especially ones that can handle uneven terrain and wet conditions. Another key factor for me is my job, which requires non-slip shoes for safety.I came across these EARLDE waterproof hiking shoes, and they initially seemed like a good fit for my needs. I typically wear a size 8.5, which usually fits me perfectly. However, these shoes don’t come in half sizes, so I ordered a size 9. Unfortunately, even that was too small. These shoes run significantly smaller than most brands. I’d likely need a size 10 for a proper fit, so I strongly recommend ordering a full size up from your usual. That said, if they had fit correctly, I think they would’ve been quite comfortable. There were no odd pressure points (aside from the tight length), they felt lightweight and easy on the knees, and the materials seemed durable and well-made. The insoles had plenty of cushioning, which is a nice touch. At around $60, they’re a bit pricey for a generic brand. There’s no visible branding aside from a hiking logo on the tongue and “EARLDE” stamped on the insoles. Still, if they prove to be comfortable and long-lasting, they could offer decent value. One issue I do have is with the “non-slip” claim. When a shoe is advertised as non-slip, I expect it to meet actual safety standards like ASTM F2913 or EN ISO 20347, or at least be labeled on the sole as “slip resistant.” These shoes don’t meet those criteria—they’re simply described as non-slip without any official certification or labeling. That makes the claim more of a marketing opinion than a verified feature.Bottom Line: These are decently made shoes with good materials and potential durability. However, the sizing runs small, and the non-slip claim isn’t backed by any real certification. At the current price, they’re on the expensive side for a generic brand. I’d consider them if they go on sale, but otherwise, I’d recommend comparing other options before making a final decision.
My first impression was that these are very well made shoes, having nice tight and uniform stitching, with no signs of glue where the sole attaches to the shoe. So, in my opinion, they started off on the right foot, so to speak. They are fairly heavy, which is in keeping with how sturdy they look and feel. Surprisingly, they didn’t feel as heavy on my feet as they did in my hands. Not that they felt like a lightweight pair of hikers, but they did feel comfortable and gave me a solid grip and footing, which I consider to be of utmost importance in any shoe that I’m going wear when hiking rough or uneven terrain.I ordered them in a size 11, which I normally wear. They did feel a bit snug which I attribute to their being new, plus I was wearing a heavy hiking sock, so, initially at least, I think a lighter weight sock would add to their comfort. Plus, these are heavily padded throughout, including the interior portion of the tongue. As the padding compresses and forms to my particular feet, I expect they will feel even more comfortable. The soles are exceptionally thick and provide good shock absorption, and the shroud over the toe area looks like it will offer good all around protection.I’m typically pretty particular when it comes to finding a pair of hiking or even just a pair of casual shoes. So I was surprised to find these to be as well made, good looking, and comfortable as they actually are. Time will tell how they hold up after putting them through their paces, but for now, I’m favorably impressed.
These are stiff shoes and not very comfortable. I wear size 13 shoes and though the label read 13, my feet would not fit inside them. Not true to size so I returned them.
I grabbed these EARLDE Men's Waterproof Hiking Shoes for my husband who is always on the go. We live in a state that has a varied climate, with some messy seasons, and the non-slip soles were appealing. I also was hoping that he might even be able to wear them at work, where non-slip soles are essential. No such luck!He immediately liked the look of these shoes. He thought they were very comfortable, fairly lightweight, and they felt like good quality. He thought they fit a little tight, but wanted to give them a try anyways. After a few days, he finally conceded that they just felt too small. I bought them in his regular size, but he said his toes were hitting the end of the shoes. He also mentioned that he thought they might be too small to accommodate an insole, if needed. Other than this issue, he thought they were great! He can't speak to their durability, but he thought the quality looked good.
These shoes are lightweight and very comfortable. These are also stylish.Great grip on slippery floors or rocks. The water resistant feature and color is great after a tough hike as you can just rinse them off if you get them dirty. These are high quality materials with great arch support. These fit well and true to size.Great value for the money.
Ran way too big, and look much better in photos.
