Where is that Hoodoo Guru album...
Let me start by saying that back in the day I was more of a Sebago guy but it is impossible to find Campsides anymore. Found these for $60, took a chance and I am glad I did. I am at the age where I feel adult men look silly wearing athletic shoes for non athletic events and I get tired of wearing boots and loafers all the time. I wanted a classic goof around shoe so I got in the way back machine and ordered these.Shoes are great. Fit perfect and feel solid. I did my favorite trick with leather and sprayed them down with Murphy Oil Soap and massaged them for a few minutes. Slipped them on, pulled laces TIGHT, and then walked around the house for a few minutes. The leather is good so they will stretch and mold around my foot soon.All the bad reviews are beyond me. I feel like the value is great for the price.

Ok shoes
These shoes are just ok. The laces started to separate after lik 2 weeks of wear. These shoes are fine if you are just going to walk from your desk to the bathroom. The soles are very thin you feel everything and there is very little support. It's like wearing flip flops the sole is so thin it's just a very basic shoe. I would not buy them again. I can't see them lasting more than a few months of every day wear.

Not comfortable
I did not care at all for these shoes. I chose them as a replacement for LL Bean Blucher mocs which appear to be discontinued as of Summer 2018. My review will compare these two shoes since others may be looking for a Bean replacement or you may prefer The Eastland's. The Bean Bluchers are very soft and flexible. No break in needed for me. They pretty much have no support and minimal cushioning in the sole. This is what I love about them. The Bean bluchers gave me an almost barefoot minimalist feeling. These Eastland's feel more like real shoes. Quite stiff and rigid with some cushioning in the sole. Also, I wear a 10.5 wide. My foot is really not that wide, it barely heads into the wide range on a measuring device. But these Eastland's are quite tight on the sides. They are a little too supportive (restrictive) for me even though they don't have any great arch support. The toe box is roomy, more rounded than the Bean's. This did me no good though because the shoe felt horribly narrow to me. The length was as expected in a 10.5. The insole is sewn in so it cannot be removed so there is not much room to add an insole if that is what you like. These are not for me, they do not feel like moccasins. After having some bouts of plantar fasciitis years ago, I have come to ignore all the standard advice and prefer that near barefoot feeling of lace-up moccasins.

Classic old school moc
Beautiful as ever, only gave it 4 stars cause eastland stooped too low making their stuff in china but they are for the most part very well made and comfortable and no one in the streets is asking to see the inside of your shoes to see where they are made, i have owned 2 pairs of the made in usa ( maine) styles and yes the materials used are of higher quality but who cares these look awesome, i also ordered these in the chukka version same color for the fall and spring/ winter, the mocs i will use for warm fall, summer of course and spring and even though they are the same color its 2 totally different looks, i have the old school original rust color with the black sole

Okay, time to get serious. These shoes are well-made, if now in China. Very similar to those sold by L L Bean. But they aren't the same as those made in the US two decades ago. And they aren't the original orange still shown in the picture of "tan," but a medium brown, identical to Bean's, with muted brass eyelets. This is Amazon's fault, they are as shown on the Eastland website. Nor do they have as many sole stitches as before, or in the picture, but the soles are sewn. Soles are also thicker. They now also have a thick memory foam insert. The fit seems the same, normal length, and width, tho they're slightly narrower than many Ds. Medium, not wide.
